‘Baseline’ candidates to establish their true operating patterns
Overview:
In these days of bought-and-paid for CV’s and well coached and polished interview skills, it can often be hard to identify
the underlying candidate. The mark of a good recruiter or HR manager is to see past the polish and get to the real person
underneath. After all – this is who will show up in the organisation once you’ve hired them!
NLP for Recruiters and HR Managers has been designed to provide you with the skills to get to the real person underneath
the polish – or the panic – that shows up in your interview room.
Using soft questioning techniques and observation skills that go way beyond simple body language recognition, you will be
quickly able to find the real person in front of you for interview. I’ll show you quick easy ways to tell if someone is
operating from their true self, or if they are creating or remembering rehearsed lines.

With 80% accuracy, I’ll show you ‘tells’ and signs to indicate when the words coming from a candidates mouth
are congruent with the rest of them.

I’ll show you a number of techniques to relax a candidate and get them to engage with you willingly in the
shortest space of time.
Having been in the contractor recruitment and placement industry I’ll show you how to understand your candidate in half
an hour, eliciting the real candidate in an easy, safe and congenial setting.
It’s understandable that candidates want to present well – to what they believe you and your client wants. They need a
job, and every job deserves a good performance. As a recruiter or HR manager – you need to see the real person to assure
they fit into the role, into the culture, into the organisation as a whole.
Successful recruiters and HR managers can quickly assess candidates. The better, the more accurately this can be done, the

This is a Two Day course: (10 hours)
Day One
Creating rapport and putting people at ease. By creating rapport, candidates will divulge themselves
more easily and willingly, allowing you to make assessments.
Spot the incongruities. We all feel different when we say something that isn’t in line with what we know or believe. We act
differently, and these ‘tells’ or signs are able to be catalogued and recognised. I show you how to ‘baseline’ a candidate to
establish their operating patterns which will allow you to spot variations from that baseline when you ask critical
questions. You’ll learn more than one technique for this so that you can cross-reference observations during the interview
process.
Day Two
It’s all about practice! You get to put these theories to work and watch the outcome – both as a
candidate and as an interviewer.
When you have finished my course you will have a set of skills with precise steps involved that you can introduce
transparently into the interview process.
