SJRRP Science Meeting Los Banos, California June 11-12, 2015 You are invited The first San Joaquin River Restoration Program (SJRRP) Science Meeting will be held from June 11 - 12, 2015, in Los Banos, California. Through this meeting, we hope to connect those conducting scientific research and monitoring to support the SJRRP, learn about preliminary findings from monitoring and analysis efforts, and inform SJRRP management of scientific results. All parties funded by the SJRRP are encouraged to present their findings at the meeting. Additionally, other programs or efforts related to river restoration that may help inform SJRRP activities are also welcome to present. The meeting is designed for a technical audience familiar with the SJRRP, but will be open to the public. This is intended to be the first in a series of Annual SJRRP Science Meetings that will continue to report the scientific findings of the SJRRP. Date/Time June 11 - 12, 2015 Thursday, June 11, will be a full day of presentations, from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Friday, June 12, will be a half day, from 8 a.m. – 12 noon. This is subject to change depending on the number of abstracts received. Location The meeting will take place at the Los Banos Community Center, located at 645 7th Street, Los Banos. Free parking is available on-site for attendees. Several hotels are available near the Los Banos Community Center, including: Best Western Executive Inn, 301 W. Pacheco Blvd, Los Banos Vagabond Inn, 20 W. Pacheco Blvd, Los Banos Hotels are also available in Santa Nella, which is approximately a 20 minute drive from the Los Banos Community Center. As a note for Federal employees booking travel, this is not an official conference, and therefore travel should be booked as mission-related. Presentation Format Presenters are able to submit abstracts for both oral and poster presentations. In the event that the meeting is not able to accommodate all requests for oral presentations, priority will be given to studies funded by the SJRRP Monitoring and Analysis Plan (MAP). Multiple MAP studies may be combined into a single presentation or a single MAP study may be divided into multiple presentations as seen fit by the Principal Investigator (PI). A diversity of presenters is desired; therefore, those involved in the project other than the PI are also encouraged to present. Presentations will occur in the Grand Room of the Los Banos Community Center. Oral presentations will be given 15 minutes to present and 5 minutes for questions. The poster session will formally run for one hour, from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday June 11, 2015; however, posters will remain on display for the duration of the meeting.
