When paying by credit card, entry must include the card number and expiration date, as well as the printed cardholder’s name, address, daytime phone, and 8 2015 PREMIER Premium List signature. Fax numbers and e-mail addresses should be included, when applicable. 4. Post-dated checks, returned checks and declined credit cards do not constitute valid entry fees. UKC will add a collection fee of $30 to the amount of each returned check or money order. Exhibitors who repeatedly submit invalid entry fees may be put on a CASH ONLY basis. ENTRY CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS 1. ENTRY cancellations MUST be received in writing prior to the closing of entries or before limits have been reached. Requests MUST INCLUDE dog’s UKC NUMBER, breed, name, and event-type entered. Cancellations received by telephone will not be accepted. 2. No refund of entry fees will be made for entries cancelled AFTER the closing date and time, except in the cases of females that come into season and are entered in Agility, Lure Coursing, Obedience, Rally Obedience, Weight Pull, Nosework or Drag Race events. In those cases, refunds may be obtained by providing UKC with a veterinarian’s certificate verifying that the female came into season after the closing date. The certificate may be mailed, provided the postmark is no later than the date prior to the day of the event, or delivered by hand to the UKC superintendent personnel before the start of the event. 3. Cancelled entries submitted before the close of entries will be charged a $10 processing fee. No entries will be refunded after the closing date and time or after entry limits have been reached. 4. Entry fees shall not be refunded in the event that a dog is absent, disqualified, excused by veterinarian or judge, or barred from competition by action of Event Committee. 5. Every effort will be made to find all duplicate entries before processing. If a duplicate entry is processed, however, no refund will be made. 6. Entry overpayments may be donated to the general trophy fund. 7. If, because of riots, civil disturbances, or other acts beyond the control of the host organization, it is impossible to open or to complete an event, no refund of entry fee will be made. 8. If, in the opinion of the host club, the well-being of dogs, exhibitors or spectators is at risk due to extreme weather conditions such as but not limited to snow storms, hurricanes, tornado, lightning or extreme heat, the host club may cancel or stop an event before completion. No refunds will be made in such cases. ENTRY ELIGIBILITY 1. Dogs must be permanently registered with UKC, have a Temporary Listing (TL) number, or have a Limited Privilege (LP)/Performance Listing (PL) listing number by the closing date and time in order to enter. No exceptions will be made. Entries for ineligible dogs will be returned. 2. Dogs must meet the eligibility requirements for the event which they are entering. For requirements, refer to the appropriate event rules and regulations. ENTRY CONFIRMATION, ARMBANDS AND JUDGING PROGRAM 1. Receipt of online entries will be acknowledged within 3 business days but this does not constitute confirmation of a valid entry. 2. Electronic confirmation of entries will be sent to the e-mail address included on the entry form as soon as the entry has been accepted and processed. 3. Written confirmation of entries will be made by U.S. Postal mail after the closing date. One armband will be assigned to each entered dog for all event(s) in which the dog is entered for the weekend. Entry confirmation information will be printed on the back of the armband. Armbands will be mailed with the PREMIER Judging Program. If you do not receive your confirmation by the Saturday preceding these events (June 6, 2015) please notify UKC. 4. A duplicate set of armbands will be available at the superintendent’s desk. CLASS CHANGE/CORRECTION OF ENTRY 1. Owners are responsible for the accuracy of information on the entry forms. Owners are responsible for any errors made on entry forms, regardless of who may make such errors. Owners and exhibitors are responsible for correcting any errors on their entry. 2. TOTAL DOG AWARD With Special permission from United Kennel Club, Total Dog competition will be held over two days. The conformation qualifier held on Friday; and performance qualifier held on Saturday. Dogs will not have to earn all Total Dog requirements on the same day. This will apply solely for the UKC’s PREMIER Event. To be eligible for a “Total Dog” award a dog must meet the following criteria: 1. On Friday, June 12, 2015, compete in conformation (regular or altered) with competition and win one of the following classes: Best Male/Female of Variety, Best Male/Female, Best of Winners, Champion, Grand Champion, Best of Breed, Group 1 through 4 (Note: Group 4 win only counts if there are five or more breeds in the Group class.), Best In Show, or Reserve Best In Show from the Regular or Altered conformation classes. With special permission from the United Kennel Club, the following addition to the existing Total Dog Rules regarding 10 2015 PREMIER Premium List conformation competition requirements for the Champion and Grand Champion classes shall apply solely on Friday, June 12, 2015. a. With special permission from the United Kennel Club, dogs that have earned a hunting title in any hunting event recognized by UKC on or before March 30, 2015 can enter PREMIER as eligible for Total Dog. All dogs must be designated as entering Total Dog upon submission of entry into the conformation class in which the dog is eligible for on Friday June 12, 2015. Total Dog Qualifiers Parade, Total Dog Groups and Total Dog Best In Show Competition. (PREMIER Best in Show Competition will follow after the completion of all Total Dog competition) On Saturday June 13, 2015 in the Main Expo Building, following the conclusion of Total Junior Parade and the Announcement of Total Junior qualifiers, the following will take place (consult the Judging Program for changes in time or location): 1. A parade of “Total Dog” qualifiers (including Altered) will kick-off this special recognition and competition. All Total Dog qualifiers (dog AND handler teams) will report for the parade of Total Dog qualifiers, followed by the announcement of the Total Dog Qualifiers (including Altered). 2. Total Dog qualifiers will then compete in Total Dog Groups. The Total Dog Groups are the standard eight group designations. Each dog that qualifies will compete in the group that its breed belongs to. There will be NO ALTERED TOTAL DOG GROUP COMPETITION. 3. Total Dog Group One winners will proceed to the judging of the PREMIER Total Dog Best In Show competition. A 2015 PREMIER Total Dog Best In Show and 2015 PREMIER Total Dog Reserve Best In Show winners will be selected. 4. Following the Total Dog Best in Show, the Altered Total Dog qualifiers will compete for a 2015 Premier Altered Total Dog Best in Show and 2015 Premier Altered Total Dog Reserve Best in Show. General Building and Parking Information 1. Building and Grounds will be open to exhibitors at 3 p.m. on Tuesday June 9, 2015. Overnight security is not provided. All Times Are Eastern Daylight Savings Time. 2. Building and Grounds will be open to exhibitors at 7 a.m. Wednesday-Sunday. Building will close at 10 p.m. Wednesday-Saturday. Sunday, the building will close 30 minutes after the conclusion of Altered Best In Show or 6 p.m., whichever is later. 3. Please follow the directions of the parking attendants to facilitate an orderly traffic flow through the unloading areas and in the parking areas. Vehicles are allowed a 15-minute unloading time-frame. Violators will be towed. 4. Limited Conformation crating in Expo North Room A and Room B. Limited Rally and Obedience crating will be in Expo South (formerly Hazel Gray building), and crating for Agility will be outside under tent provided by facility. 5. Grooming space is on a first come, first served basis. Empty grooming space may not be saved. 6. No rugs or ground cover mats are allowed on the floor. 7. No exercise pens inside any building. There is ample room for private ex-pens outside. 8. Exhibitors will be required to stack their crates when crating in any buildings. 9. Dogs may not be left unattended when crated in soft mesh crates or on a grooming table. No dog may be left in an unlatched or unzippered crate or on a grooming table. 10. Dogs must not be left in the buildings overnight. All dogs must be out of the buildings by 10 p.m. 11. No dogs or pets of any kind in restrooms or showers. 12. No powdering allowed. 13. For conformation, small ringside tables and crates are only allowed at ringside during the judging of a single breed. The Event Committee may order these tables and crates to be removed at its discretion. Please do not abuse this privilege. 14. There will be absolutely NO SMOKING in all Buildings and designated areas. 15. Admission Fee. Admission - $5 per car per day or $10 per car for a weekend pass (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) An admission pass for exhibitors will be included in the Judging Program. 16. No cones or other means to be used to save parking spaces in or about the parking lot or campgrounds. 17. Overnight parking for R.V.’s and camping registration available. THE OWNER OR DESIGNATED HANDLER of each dog is solely responsible for having it ready at ringside when its class is to be judged. The host organization, event committee, and superintendent have no obligation or responsibility for providing service through a public address system or stewards or runners for the purpose of locating dogs that are not brought into the ring when required. 6. Dogs may arrive any time prior to their scheduled time of judging. Dogs not required for further judging do not need to remain in attendance. 7. Please remember to turn off cell phones and/or pagers before entering rings. 8. No un-entered dogs allowed on the event grounds. No dog less than 8 weeks of age may be present on the grounds of a UKC Licensed event. 9. Exhibitors and dog owners are expected and required to clean up after their own dogs. Any person witnessing a violation of this rule must report it to the Event Committee. The Event Committee may ask any person violating this rule to leave the event grounds. No refund will be made if an exhibitor is asked to leave the grounds. 10. Absolutely no alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs will be allowed on the grounds or in the buildings on the day of a UKC® Licensed event. 11. ATV (4-Wheelers) are prohibited on the grounds of the Kalamazoo County Fairgrounds. 12. No Bicycles are allowed in any building or directly around any event ring. Failure to adhere may result in the expulsion of the Bicyclist from the Event Grounds. 13. Skateboards and roller blades are allowed in the camping area only. 14. UKC will vigorously support any motel/hotel that files a complaint about exhibitors who fail to keep their dogs quiet or to clean up after them. In order that the bad conduct of a few exhibitors does not spoil it for the majority of responsible exhibitors, UKC will take strong disciplinary action against any offenders. 15. All rights to televise, videotape, advertise, photograph, promote or other-wise exploit the event are vested in United Kennel Club and its assignees. All persons and animals on the event grounds at any time while the shows are in progress do, by attending these shows, grant to the club the right to photograph, televise, videotape, audiotape or otherwise use their likeness and voice in any manner without further release or consent. Exhibitor and General Information 1. All events are held under the Rules and Regulations of the United Kennel Club 2. UKC, its agents and its employees assume no responsibility for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by spectators or by exhibitors and handlers, or to any of their dogs or property, and further assume no responsibility for injury to children not under the control of their parents or guardians. UKC is not responsible for loss, accidents or theft. 3. SCHEDULING CONFLICTS FOR DOGS COMPETING IN MULTIPLE EVENTS. a. Exhibitors are responsible for being available for judging at the scheduled time. b. Every possible effort will be made to accommodate exhibitors who have dogs entered in multiple events, but judges are not required to wait for dogs. Exhibitors are advised to notify stewards in all rings affected by the conflict so that judges may work around any conflicts more easily. c. All Star exhibitors, please be advised that the Agility, Obedience, Rally Obedience and Terrier Race All Star Invitationals are not required to make allowances or accommodations for dogs and/or handlers entered in the All Star Competition and any other event. 4. UKC encourages exhibitors to present their dogs with the least amount of grooming necessary to enable a judge to properly compare each dog with the standard of its breed. Dogs should be clean, with nails cut to a length suitable for the dog to perform the work for which it was bred, and with clean teeth.
