FACULTY PROFILE – School of Mechanical Engineering Dr. Rajashekar Patil Associate Professor in School of Mechanical Engineering holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering (VTU), Master of Technology (Kuvempu University) and Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Gulbarga University). He also has diploma in PGDBM and PGNBT. Dr. Rajashekar Patil has published 25 research papers in referred national & international journals and 7 books in the area of Engineering Drawing & Machine Drawing. He has been honored with the GLOBAL ENGINEERING EDUCATION LEADERSHIP AWARD from SIEMENS, 2010, and he has been honored with Platinum Jubilee Award, 2010 on the occasion of 150th Birthday of Sir M. Visvesvaraya, Recognition by Institute of Engineers, Bangalore, Karnataka and Received Margadarshan Award for Innovation and Excellence in Training, 2013 at IIT, Delhi. He is serving Member of NAFEMS World Simulation & Analysis Body for Research Analysts Program since 2008. Dr. Rajashekar Patil served 5 years in Visvesvaraya Technological University as a Special Officer during - at VTU, he initiated computer aided Engineering drawing and computer aided machine drawing and served as key resource person in training the faculty. He also contributed for establishing Design and Development Lab (Rapid Prototyping Lab) at VTU. His areas of specialization and research are CAD & CAM, Robotics, Rapid Prototyping, CAED, CAMD and Collaborative and Digital Manufacturing. He has successfully guided 25 researchers for M. Tech degrees. He has been trained by Bosch-Rexroth, at Lohr, Germany on Hydraulics and Pneumatics & is an Accredited Trainer. Dr. Rajashekar Patil visited Sri Lanka (2006), Mauritius (2007), Germany, Switzerland (2007), Thailand (2012) and Malaysia (2013) on various academic and research Assignment’s. Prof. C. D. Hampali, Senior Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering has his post-graduation in the field of Energy System Engineering from BVBCET, Hubli, Karnataka University. He is pursuing his Doctoral Program in Bangalore University in Biomaterials and Thermal Engineering. To his credit there is one national and one international conference papers. He has teaching experience of 26 years and 2 years of research experience. His research interests are focused on Energy Systems Engineering, Internal combustion engine and Thermodynamics. He has taught for Under Graduate subjects like Elements of Mechanical Engineering, Basic Thermodynamics, Applied Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Turbo-machinery, Internal Combustion Engines, and Biomass energy systems, Automobile Engineering, Heat and Mass Transfer, Energy Engineering for under graduate students. Dr. L.H. Manjunath, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering has PhD from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belgaum. He also holds M Tech degree in Machine Design from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore, and BE in Mechanical Engineering from Adichunchinagiri Institute of Technology, Chikmagalur. Dr. Manjunath has teaching experience of 14 years and 6 years of industrial experience as a Production and Quality Control Engineer at Industrial Polymer Products, Mysore. He has to his credit 6 research articles in international journals and 10 research papers in National and International conferences / proceedings. He is a life member of ISTE. Prof. Sachin kumar Patil Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering holds Master Degree in Manufacturing Science from Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, Bangalore and Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from PDACE, Gulbarga. He has put in 4 years of experience in the academics. Prof. Patil is specialized in Machining, Welding, Coating casting, composite material and Metal matrix composite. He is a life member of ISTE. Prof. Santhosh B Deveerappa Assistant Professor in the School of Mechanical Engineering obtained M.S (Master of Science) degree in “Automation and Robotics” with Specialization in Process Automation from TU Dortmund (University of Dortmund), Germany in the year 2010 and Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Visveswaraiah Technological University. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree in “German as a foreign language” from the department of foreign languages, Bangalore University, Bangalore. His fields of interest are Scheduling and Algorithms, Process optimization, Mathematical Modeling of systems, Control engineering applications, Robotics and Automation. He has worked as a student research assistant at TU Dortmund, Germany and also held responsible position at AAA (Akademisches Auslandsamt) TU Dortmund as an event organizer during the year 2010. Deveeerappa has teaching experience of three years. He has taught Control Engineering, Robotics and Automation, Dynamics of Machinery for under graduate students. His technical paper titled “Effective Batch Scheduling with SequenceDependent Changeovers Using Reachability Analysis of Timed Automata Combined with Lower Bound Computation” – accepted for 14th IFAC (International Federation of Automatic Control) Symposium on Information Control Problems in Manufacturing (INCOM 2012), held in Bucharest, Romania. His current research areas include mathematical modeling of Job shop Scheduling Problems and preparation of composite materials from natural fibers for engineering applications. Prof. Vasanth Kumar K L Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering has his Master Degree in Thermal Sciences from National Institute of Technology, Calicut and Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering from S.J.C.I.T., Chickballapur. He has put in 3 years of experience in academics and is specialized in field of Heat and power. He has presented 2 conference papers. Prof. Suresha S, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, has Master of Technology Degree in Machine Design from BMS College of Engineering, Bangalore and Bachelor of Engineering Degree from SJMIT, Chitradurga. He has teaching experience of 14 years in VTU affiliated Engineering Colleges. He has taught elements of Mechanical Engineering, Design of Machine Elements-I & II, Finite Elements Methods and Mechanical Vibrations for under graduate students and Finite Elements Methods, Robust Design and Design for Manufacturing for post graduate students. Current research interests of Prof. Suresha are Vibration and Structural Health Monitoring. He is a research Scholar for Doctoral Program working on Vibration based damage identification in structures using advanced signal processing techniques. He has attended 4 workshops on Smart Materials and Vibrations and he is a life member of Indian Society for Technical Education. Prof. Gururaja Sharma T, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering, has Master of Engineering Degree in Advanced Materials Technology from University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, Bangalore, and Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering from KVG College of Engineering, Sullia, Mangalore. He has served as an Assistant Professor in VTU affiliated engineering colleges for 3 years. He has taught Computer Aided Engineering Drawing, Graphics-1&2, Elements of Mechanical Engineering, Computer Aided Machine Drawing, Manufacturing Process, Energy Engineering, and Automotive Engineering. He has served as a Mechanical Engineer in R.S. Kini & Co. for 4 years. Prof. Sharma has participated in 4 workshops and conferences on Nano Materials, Smart Materials, Composite Materials, Finite Elements Methods and MEMS and has contributed 3 research papers in National level conference. His area of research interest is Composite Materials. Prof. Bharath V G, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering holds Master of Engineering Degree in Machine Design from Visvesvaraya College of Engineering, Bangalore, and Bachelor of Engineering Degree from Bangalore Institute of Technology, Bangalore. He served as an Assistant Professor in VTU affiliated Engineering colleges for 2 years. He also gained 1 year of industrial experience before taking up teaching career. He has taught elements of Mechanical Engineering, Design of Machine Elements-I &II and Finite Element Method. Prof. Bharath has published 4 research papers in peer reviewed international journals and has presented 2 papers in National conferences. To keep pace with the recent trends in Mechanical Engineering, Prof. Bharath has attended 2 Faculty Development Program on Smart Materials and Finite Element Method organized by VTU-VGST and several workshops on design and analysis, GD&T. FACULTY PROFILE – School of Computing & Information Technology Dr. Kiran Kumari Patil, Professor in the School of Computing and Information Technology possesses Ph.D. from Dr. MGR University. She has 16 years of teaching, 5 years of research and 1 year of Industry experience. Her areas of specialization are Content Based Audio Retrieval, Innovative Mobile Application Development, Health Care, ICT for Rural Health Care, and WSN. She has guided 4 research thesis at PG level and published 7 research papers in international journals. She has also presented 19 research papers in national conferences. She received Outstanding Innovation Award for the Research project on” Mobile Application Monitor” at India Innovative Forum in Bangalore IT.biz-2011 from the Govt. of Karnataka. Prof. Nirmala S Gupta is the Associate Professor in the School of Computing & Information Technology. She is perusing her Ph.D from Rayalaseema University. She has 15 years of teaching, 3 years of Research and 3.5 years of Industry Experience. Her areas of specialization are Simultaneous Localization and Mapping, Robotics, Data Mining, and Big Data and Analytics. She has guided 2 research scholars at PG level. Prof. Akram Pasha, Associate Professor in the School of Computing Science and Information Technology has 15 years of teaching experience and 2 years of Industry experience. He has ME in Computer Science and Engineering from UVCE, Bangalore University. His areas of Specialization are Classification & Clustering Algorithms, Swarm Intelligence and Moving Object Detection. Prof. Sushma Ravindra Y is working as Assistant Professor in the School of Computing & Information Technology has her M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering from VTU. Prof. Amrita Anand, Assistant Professor in the School of Computing and Information Technology has done ME in Computer Science. Her area of specialization is Network Security. Her primary area of research interest is Data Mining. FACULTY PROFILE – School of Civil Engineering Prof. W.P. Prema Kumar, Senior Professor, School of Civil Engineering, holds Ph.D. from I.I.T. Madras, Chennai, M. E degree in Structural Engineering and B.E degree in Civil Engineering from Bangalore University. He has 35 years of teaching experience. He has taught various subjects including Finite Element Method, Computational Structural Mechanics, Structural Dynamics, Masonry Structures, Structural Analysis, Design of RCC Structures, Design of Steel Structures, and Design of Pre-stressed Concrete Structures. Prof. Prema Kumar also has 4 years of structural design experience in reputed firms. His areas of research interest are finite element analysis, composite structures, masonry structures, concrete technology etc. He has to his credit several papers in reputed national and international journals and conference proceedings. He is a member of many University Bodies, Societies and such other professional organizations. Prof. Leelavathi K.S. Associate Professor, School of Civil Engineering, holds M.E., degree in Structural Engineering from BVB College of Engineering, Hubli and B.E degree in Civil Engineering from UVCE Bangalore. She has 20 years of teaching experience and 2 years of industry experience. Prof. Agadi Kishan, Assistant Professor in School of Civil Engineering, holds M.Tech degree in Structural Engineering from REVA Institute of Technology & Management and B.E degree in Civil Engineering from R.Y.M.E.C, Bellary. He has one year of teaching experience and one year industrial experience. His area of research is Earthquake and Concrete Technology. He also has participated in 10 national and international workshops on various subjects. FACULTY PROFILE – School of Electronics & Communications Dr. S.L. Pinjare, Senior Professor and Head of the School of Electronics and Communication Engineering with 35 years of research and teaching experience began his research career at IIT Madras. He has published over 50 research papers in national and international journals. His current research interest includes VLSI Design, MEMS and Nanotechnology. He has designed and prototyped SAW filter chips. He is currently working on Silicon MEMS directional microphone. He is instrumental in setting up National MEMS design center at NMIT, Bangalore. He has worked on a VGST sponsored project to establish a center for Nano composites and MEMS application at NMIT. He has taught several subjects such as Low Power CMOS Design, Digital Systems Design Using Verilog, Automotive electronics, ASIC Design, VLSI technology and CMOS digital Design, Introduction to MEMS. He was also a Post-doctoral Research Fellow at Laboratoire de Physique des Solides, Universite de Paris Sud Orsay (France). He has guided one Ph.D student and several M.Tech projects. His expertise includes Microelectronics (IC, MIC’s, SAW filters) fabrication, assembly, testing, prototyping and production. Dr. K.S. Gurumurthy, Senior Professor in the School of Electronics and Communication Engineering holds Ph. D. degree in ‘Microelectronics’ from IISc, Bangalore, M.E. degree in ‘Solid State Electronics’ from U.O.R. Roorkee and B.E. degree in ‘Electronics and Communications’ from Mysore University. He has published 3 articles in national journals and 37 in international journals. He has participated and presented 13 research papers in National Conferences and 67 in international Conferences. He has 35 years of teaching experience and 23 years of research experience. His areas of specialization are VLSI Design, Low Power VLSI and Device Modeling. He has undertaken 2-R&D projects. Dr. Gurumurthy has successfully guided 10 research scholars for award of PhD, 4 have submitted their thesis and 5 scholars working under his guidance for Doctoral degrees (Ph. D). He has presented 5 research papers in national and 1 international conferences. He has 6 years of teaching and 27 years of research experience. His areas of specialization include Image/Signal Processing, Linear Algebra, Statistical Signal Processing, and Probability & Random Variables. He has undertaken many R&D projects in DRDO and AT&T Lab. He was invited many times by various institutions to deliver guest lectures on Signal Processing and Mathematics. Prof Amrut Anilrao Purohit, Assistant Professor in the School of Electronics and Communication Engineering possesses M Tech. from Sir. M. V. I. T, Bangalore with a specialization in ‘Electronics’ and B.E. degree in ‘Electronics and Communications’ from Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering, Bangalore. He is currently pursuing Ph. D. from V. T. U., Belgaum, in the field of Electronics. His area of specialization is Embedded Systems (Microcontroller based Design). Prof Amrut Anilrao Purohit has guided 2 PG students and 2 UG students for their dissertations. He has taught Basic Electronics, Logic Design, Electronic Instrumentation, Design of Analog Mixed Mode VLSI, VLSI Design for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Prof. Anitha Kumari.R.D, Assistant Professor in the School of Electronics and Communication Engineering holds M Tech in ‘Digital Electronics and communication’ from M.S.Ramaiah Institute of Technology and B.E degree in ‘Electronics and Communications’ from VTU Belgaum. She is currently pursuing PhD from VTU, Belgaum; she has presented 02 International Journal, 02 International conferences and 03 National conferences. Prof. Anitha Kumari has 5 years of teaching and 1year of industrial experience. Her areas of specialization include Image/Signal Processing, and Embedded System Design. Prof. Mohammed Riyaz Ahmed, Assistant Professor in the School of Electronics and Communication Engineering earned his Master’s degree in ‘Computer Network Engineering’ and Bachelor’s degree in ‘Electronics and Communications’ from Visvesvaraya Technological University. He is pursuing his Doctoral studies in Jain University in the field of Computational Cognitive Neuroscience. He has done his PGDBA in HR. He has 3 years of teaching experience. His areas of interest lie in the overlapping domains of Electronics, psychology and Neuroscience. His recent findings in areas of modeling attention, learning and Memory management have been published in few journals of international repute. Prof. Ahmed specialized in teaching circuits and communication, electronic circuits, microelectronics and control systems and he is a practicing teacher and believes in activity based learning. He is a practitioner of learner centric pedagogical methods and experiments diverse ways of teaching and learning. He has mentored 20 UG and 12 PG projects out of which 3 projects bagged best project awards and 15 papers have been published under his guidance. One of his student projects on cognitive musicology was funded with $750 by IEEE STANDARDS. Prof. Prashant. V. Joshi, Assistant Professor in the School of Electronics and Communication Engineering holds M Tech. degree in ‘VLSI Design and Embedded Systems’ and B.E. degree in ‘Electronics and Communications’ from VTU. He is pursuing his PhD in VTU. He has presented 3 international conference papers. He has 3 years of teaching experience. His areas of specializations are VLSI and SoC Design. He has taught HDL Design for Undergraduate students and Low Power VLSI, Design of VLSI System, VLSI System & Architectures, Advances in VLSI Design, VHDL Designing, etc. for Postgraduate students. Prof. Yashodha, H Assistant Professor, School of Electronics and Communication Engineering holds M Tech degree in Power Electronics from Bengaluru and, B. E. in Electronics and Communication Engineering from KUD. Her areas of specialization are Radars/ Communication, Embedded Systems/EMI and EMC mitigation techniques. She has guided three Master degree projects. She has 12 years of teaching and one year of research experience. She has published one article in international journal. She has participated and presented in two national conferences and one international conference. Prof. Warsha Balani, Assistant Professor in the School of Electronics and Communication Engineering earned her M Tech in Digital Communications and B Tech in Electronics and Communications from R.G.P.V. Prof. Pratibha V.Hegde, Assistant Professor in the School of Electronics and Communication Engineering possesses M Tech in VLSI Design and Embedded Systems from RITM, Bangalore and B.E. from B.E.C. Bagalkot. She has 2 years of experience in companies like Philips and Sanvika Info Labs. She also has 2 years of experience in teaching. She has undergone 6months training on ‘Real Time Embedded Systems’ at Embedded Competency Center at Mistral Solutions and 4-month certification course in Life Skills (CLS) at Banjara Academy. She has received 2nd place for her project done on Document Image Processing, jointly by IISc and HP (Hewlett-Packard). She has published one research IEEE paper and has presented one paper in national conference. Prof. Kala. S, Assistant Professor in the School of Electronics and Communication Engineering received M Sc (Engg.) by Research in VLSI Systems Design from Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Bangalore and M Tech in VLSI Design, from Anna University, Tamil Nadu. After graduating from IISc, she worked as a Research Associate in SERC, IISc, Bangalore, for one year. Prior to her time at IISc, she served as part of faculty at CUSAT, Kochi and VJCET, Ernakulam. Her research interests include VLSI Architectures for Signal Processing and Communication Systems, Reconfigurable Architectures, Neuromorphic Architectures and Low Power Systems Design. She has published ten International/National research papers including ISCAS 2013 and ICM 2013 in the above areas. She is an Associate Member of Institution of Engineers, India. His areas of interest are Accounting and Finance, and corporate Governance. He Worked as Accounting payable officer in Siemens, Bangalore for 2 years, and as Guest Faculty in Sri Venkateswara University and Sri Padmavathi Mahila Visvavidyalayam 2 more years and Head department of Management Studies in Seshachala Institute of Management Studies for 1 year prior to joining as Assistant Professor in School of Commerce, REVA University. She has 8 years of Corporate Exposure and was associated with reputed Institutions for 8 years. She is a recipient of Presidents award for the best presidency and many gold and silver medals in academics and extra-curricular activities. She has authored a book on HRM for BBM under Bangalore University. She has published 15 articles in National and International journals and presented papers in National and International seminars and conferences in the areas of HRM, Marketing and General Management. Mrs. Rajeevi Nayak is currently Assistant Professor in School of Commerce, REVA University. She holds M.Com, MBA (Finance), M.Phil degrees and presently is pursuing Ph.D in Commerce from Bharatiyar University, Coimbatore. She has 15 years of teaching experience and has worked in various institutions including Dr.A.V.Baliga College of Commerce, Kumta, SDM College, Honavar and Presidency College, Bangalore. She has participated in different National Seminars. Besides teaching she had taken up Entrepreneurship Activities by being an ‘Education Partner’ of ‘Tally India Pvt.Ltd., (TIPL)’for a period of 5 years. She has been awarded as ‘Tally Certified Professional’ by TIPL to educate ‘Tally’ an Accounting Software. She has also served in the capacity of Co-coordinator of BBA in SDM College, Honavar (Uttara Kannada District). G, Assistant Professor possesses M Com from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore and she is specialized in Cost Accounting, Taxation. Currently Pursuing M Phil from Madurai Kamaraj University is UGC-NET-EFL qualified. She has 13 years of teaching experience in St. Annes Degree College and Presidency College, Bangalore. She has officiated as Head of the Dept. of Commerce & Management in Presidency College. She has also served as Chief Superintendent for Bangalore University Examinations and has been actively coordinating Rotaract Club and Samarpan Social service club in organizing Social outreach programs. Ms. Geethanjali is known for her good communication, interpersonal skills and counseling skills. Ms.Yamuna Sastry, Assistant Professor in Commerce possesses M Com from Jain University, Bangalore and Diploma in Business Administration from Bangalore University. Before joining REVA University, Ms. Yamuna Sastry served as Senior Consultant in KPMG’s Advisory Services for nearly 3 years. She has experience in Auditing and Project Management. She served in project management stream by addressing vulnerabilities for underlying business critical applications for Shell (Oil and Natural Gas Industry). Prior to this project, she was involved in a number of Internal Audit assignments. She along with her team has executed project assignments relating to Banking and Financial services, manufacturing and technology solutions of several clients like Emerson, Century Link, Motorola, and Accenture including Fortune 500 Companies. She was also part of Training team for the campus fresher’s for 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 batch of KPMG’s Advisory Services. Mr. Nagendra S.M, Alumni of REVA Group of Educational Institutions is an Assistant Professor, at REVA University. He holds M.Com and MBA degrees and has qualified UGC – NET. Dr. Veena Angadi, Assistant Professor in School of Management Studies at REVA University is a Doctorate in Management from SAI NATH UNIVERSITY, Ranchi and Master of Philosophy from Venkateshwara University Tirupati, MBA from Pondicherry University with specialization in Human Resource. She also possesses Diploma in Retail Management from National Institute of Retail Management, Bangalore. She has eight years of academic, research and administrative experience. Phil from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore; and currently pursuing PhD from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore. She has teaching experience of more than 10 years. To her credit are 3 international and 7 national publications. One of her research paper has won the Best Paper Award. Her areas of interest include: succession planning and psychological contact. Ms. Madhuri, Assistant Professor in the School of Management Studies, REVA University has M.Com from Sri Krishnadevaraya University, PG Diploma in Business Administration and Management from Andhra Pradesh Productivity Council and M.Phil from Madurai Kamaraj University. She has submitted her thesis in Marketing Management to Dravidian University for the award of PhD degree in Management. She has 17 years of teaching experience in commerce and management education.
