Sample Question Types Nevada End of Course Examinations Math I and II The purpose of this document is to provide educational stakeholders examples of the question types found in the Nevada End of Course Examinations for Mathematics. The questions types contained in this document are found in both the Math I and Math II End of Course Examinations. This is not a “practice test” and performance on these items is not predictive of student performance on the End of Course Examinations. The Examinations will contain four question types. Each of these types is described in the chart below. The Nevada Department of Education (NDE) has included 8 examples to show some of the various ways in which question types may be displayed. Page 1 Selected Response Question with one correct answer Correct Answer: D Page 2 Multiple Select Question with eight response options and multiple correct answers. Correct Answer: A, E, G Students must select all that are correct to obtain all points associated with this question. Page 3 Two-part Question containing a Selected Response and a Gridded Response Questions that have two parts and may require use of the information in Part 1 to answer Part 2 PART 1 Correct Answer: B PART 2 Correct Answer: 102 Page 4 Selected Response Some answer choices contain graphics Correct Answer: A Page 5 Selected Response Question with a graphic in the prompt Correct Answer: A Page 6 Gridded Response Question requiring student input of the correct answer into a grid. Correct Answer: 25 Page 7 Selected Response Question with a partial proof in the prompt Correct Answer: A Page 8 Selected Response Answer choices include both the claims and justification.
