Eastern Ghouta Clashes erupted between the Free Syrian Army and regime forces supported by local and foreign militias at Deir Salman front in al-Marj area of eastern Ghouta. According to RFS Media office correspondent in the area, two regime troops were killed and many more were injured. Revolutionary forces targeted regime fortifications in the Municipality building and the Electricity department in the southern ring road using homemade rockets. Moreover, revolutionary fighters ambushed several regime troops as they attempted to infiltrate into Erbeen front. Al-Qalamoun Several factions under Tahrir alSham Army announced launching a new battle in the area of Abo alShamat in eastern Qalamoun. The factions gained control of several locations including the BaghdadDamascus international road following violent clashes; several regime soldiers and Hezbollah militants were killed. RFS Media office correspondent reported that clashes erupted between revolutionaries and regime forces supported by local and foreign militias in several areas of al-Qalamoun throughout the week, mainly in the outskirts of al-Qariyah and Ras al-Rafea hill. HOMS Revolutionaries foiled regime forces’ attempts to infiltrate into the Air Defence Battalion to the west of Talbiseh; seven regime troops were reportedly killed. They also managed to blow up three regime-held buildings at al-Hilalyeh-Jaboureen front after having infiltrated into them to booby-trap them. Homs Liberation Movement of the FSA announced targeting regime forces and Iranian militias’ locations in the outskirts of al-Kum village in the northern countryside using medium and heavy weapons amid sporadic clashes in the area. Additionally, the Artillery Division of the Movement mortared regime troops positioned in the Engineering Battalion premises to the north of the city of al-Rastan achieving direct hits. Meanwhile, FSA battalions (Usoud al-Sharqiyeh, al-Asala and alTanmiya Front, al-Rahman legion in addition to other factions) started a new battle against ISIS in al-Qalamoun. The battalions stormed several locations mainly al-Alyanieyh and al-Hilbeh in alSham desert and gained control of them following clashes that resulted in killing dozens of ISIS militants and capturing several others. Moreover, FSA fighters ambushed ISIS militants near Bir alMahrotheh area of eastern alQalamoun; many ISIS militiamen were reportedly killed. Dara’a The City The FSA bombed regime premises in Dara’a al-Mahatta with mortar shells and Jahannam launchers amid clashes in the area. Northern Countryside Southern Front Factions of the Free Syrian Army gained control of the town of Kafer Shams of the northern countryside following fierce clashes against Assad troops. Many regime soldiers and pro-regime militiamen were reportedly killed and wounded. Moreover, FSA fighters downed a regime MiG aircraft using a heatseeking missile, and destroyed a regime tank in addition to several military vehicles. They also targeted regime bases in the town of al-Jidyeh using machine guns and artillery, and destroyed two regime tanks in the outskirts of the town using TOW missiles. Southern countryside The Southern Front factions of the FSA, under the supervision of the House of Justice, announced putting Naseeb crossing at the borders under the management of the Daraa Province Council. The factions gained control of the crossing last week. IDLIB Al-Fateh Army battalions gained control of parts of the village of al-Mastoumeh following clashes with Assad forces. They destroyed a regime tank and a 130mm gun while clashes continued in the outskirts of al-Mastoumeh army base. Meanwhile, 13th Division of the FSA destroyed a regime 130mm gun at Tal Hakmi checkpoint in the outskirts of Ariha and a regime BMP vehicle on Mount Arba’een highway using a TOW missile. Additionally, Infantry Division 101 of the Free Syrian Army fired Grad missiles and mortars at regime premises in alQirmid army base near Ariha, while clashes were reported in the village of Sararif of Jabal Azzawiah. Revolutionary forces destroyed a regime bulldozer at Mount Arbaeen front using SPG-9 guns, targeted Assad troops stationed along the road linking Idlib and Jisir al-Shughor using heavy machine guns, and attacked regime locations in the village of al-Bahsa with machine guns. HAMA Western Countryside Revolutionary forces captured 150 regime troops in the area of Sahel al-Ghab in the western countryside of Hama. They also blasted al-Qahira checkpoint near the village of al-Bared killing twenty regime troops and injuring others, according to RFS Media Office correspondent. Meanwhile, clashes took place between the FSA and regime forces at Asirmaniyeh, Kamb, and al-Tahoon checkpoints. The FSA fighters destroyed a regime bulldozer at Ghareb al-Ghab checkpoint using a TOW missile, and fired missiles at the regime forces and pro-regime militias stationed in the city of Salhab. Northern Countryside Revolutionary battalions bombed regime checkpoints in the outskirts of al-Hammamiat village using heavy artillery and Jahannam launchers inflicting losses among regime’s ranks according to our correspondent in the area. The battalions also bombed regime premise in Mourek LATTAKIA FSA forces gained control of Sinan hill near Observatory 45 in the countryside following clashes with regime troops and pro-regime militias. The First Coastal Division of the Free Syrian Army destroyed a regime military vehicle delivering ammunition to regime’s locations around Nabi Younes hilltop using a TOW missile. Meanwhile, the 10th Brigade of the FSA fired 120mm mortars at regime and Shabiha premises in Doureen hilltop. Meanwhile, revolutionaries used Grad missiles, mortars and SPGguns to target regime locations in the village of al-Furulloq, Nabea al-Mur, Raas al-Basit and Tower 45 achieving direct hits. using different kinds of weapons killing at least nine regime soldiers. Moreover, they targeted regime bases in the village of Joureen with Jahannam launchers and mortar shells achieving direct hits. ALEPPO A number of factions operating in the city of Aleppo announced the formation of Thwar al-Sham Battalions. They stressed in a statement posted on YouTube that they battle Assad troops and proregime local and foreign forces. The City Violent clashes using medium and heavy weapons broke out between the FSA and regime forces in al-Ashrafiyeh, alRashideen, Maysaloun, al-Sayed Ali, al-Azizyeh, Jamiat al-Zahraa, Bustan al-Qasir, al-Sabea Bahrat area and al-Hamidiyeh according to RFS media office correspondent. Moreover, revolutionaries destroyed a regime tank and a heavy machine gun in al-Shabourah area in the neighbourhood of al-Sayed Ali, and bombed Assad militias’ locations at al-Sheikh Saed front using Jahannam launchers and medium machine guns. Fursan al-Izz Brigade of the FSA damaged a regime tank at Azizah front using a homemade Jahannam launcher shell. Meanwhile, revolutionaries targeted two regime-held buildings in the neighbourhood of al-Amiriyeh using time bombs. The regime used one of the buildings to monitor revolutionaries’ supply routes at alAmeriyeh and al-Ramouseh fronts, and used the other as a depot and a starting place for regime troops’ infiltration operations. Furthermore, revolutionaries blasted a building where regime troops were stationed in al-Sabea Bahrat area killing all troops inside. They also blasted a regime base in al-Sweqah area killing and injuring several regime soldiers. Northern countryside Al-Shamia Front fighters boobytrapped and detonated a regime military point on al-Mayyasat hill where regime snipers are stationed to monitor a vast area of alManasher front; five regime troops were killed. They also bombed regime premise in the village of Bashkoy with Jahannam launchers killing a number of regime soldiers. Moreover, they destroyed a building where regime troops were stationed at Bashkoy front using tank shells killing all troops inside. Infantry Division 101 of the FSA successfully bombed regime bases at al-Breij front using SPG9- guns. Southern countryside Revolutionaries targeted regime premises in the village of Azizah using artillery and mortars achieving direct hits amid sporadic clashes in the area. Violent clashes erupted between the FSA and regime troops at Khan Touman front. Dozens Killed in Two ISIS Suicide Bombings North of Aleppo Spokesperson for the Syrian Coalition Salem al-Meslet condemned the two suicide bombings carried out by ISIS elements in the towns of Marea and Hur Kilis north of Aleppo. The attacks targeted compounds belonging to al-Shamia Front of the Free Syrian Army in order to kill their commanders. Several commanders were killed including Yahya Zakarya Hafez, Hafez alSaleh, Luay Salim Hafez, Ali Husein, Hasan Ikrima and Ali Husein alNaef, while dozens of people were injuried. The first suicide bombing targeted al-Shamia Front base in the town of Marea, 40 km to the north of Aleppo, killing at least thirteen people and injuring dozens more. The second one targeted another base for al-Shamia Front and occurred shortly after the first one in the town of Hur Kilis, 50km to the north of Aleppo. Thirty people were killed, including prominent commanders in the Front, and many more were injured. It is worth mentioning that ISIS has been attempting for a while to storm both of the towns under al-Shamia Front’s control. The Front was formed late last year and it includes several of the biggest military factions in Aleppo such as al-Mujahideen Army, Nour Eddine Zinki Movement, Istaqem Kama Umert Group, al-Asala and al-Tanmiyah Front, in addition to several others. “ISIS exploited the rebels’ concentration on fighting proregime forces who have been trying desperately to encircle Aleppo,” Meslet said. “Countering ISIS extremism needs unifying our efforts and upholding the principles of the Syrian Revolution, in parallel with a significant shift in the international community’s position on the situation in Syria.” “ISIS and the Assad regime’s continued barbarity lays great moral responsibilities on the international community to provide meaningful support for the Syrian people, not only in order to achieve their legitimate aspirations and protect civilians; but to ward off more risks and possibilities that threaten the region and the whole world.” Meslet extends condolences to the families of the victims of the terrorist attacks, reaffirming confidence in the revolution’s forces that adhere to the principles of the revolution and that respect international conventions and laws. Civilian deaths The number of civilian deaths by regime forces during the past week is 324 people, including 36 children, 29 women, and 13 who were tortured to death. Regime Violations Many Syrian civilians were killed last week by Assad forces’ land and aerial bombardment, especially barrel bombs, in Aleppo, Idlib, Damascus countryside and Dara’a, according to RFS Media Office correspondents. Meanwhile, Syrians continued on identifying the bodies of their loved ones who have been tortured to death inside Assad prisons, mainly those from the neighbourhood of Kafar Souseh, by means of the leaked photos of Caesar. ISIS Violations ISIS committed several violations against Syrians during the past week according RFS Media Office correspondent. It executed Malek al-Rawi in the city of al-Bukamal and Faisal al-Khalef in the town of al-Bagouz in al-Bukamal countryside on charges of fighting alongside the FSA against ISIS.
