6. All submitted artwork must be the contestant(s)'s
original design and creation. No unauthorized use
of any copyright images, text or other materials will
be accepted. Copying of someone else's work will
mean disqualification.
7. Submitted artwork must not have entered any other
contest.
8. No naked, nude characters, racial or political
statements or vulgar images are to be submitted.
9. Avoid designs with personalized images and names
of family, friends, or other organisations.
10. The decision of the jury will be final and irrevocable..

Registration Form for “Science Mural Contest 2015 “
In line with its mission to serve as a Centre for nonformal education and popularization of Science and
Technology among the population through various
media the Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre in
collaboration with the Indian High Commission and
the Indira Gandhi Centre for Indian Culture is
planning to organize a Science Mural Contest
extending on two days i.e. on Wednesday 10 June
2015 and Thursday 11 June 2015 at the Rajiv Gandhi
Science Centre, Bell Village.
This will also be an opportunity for the RGSC to
commemorate the International year of Light and
the works of Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman,
whose ground breaking work in the field of light
scattering earned him the 1930 Nobel Prize for Physics.
He discovered that, when light traverses a transparent
material, some of the deflected light changes in
wavelength. This phenomenon is now called Raman
scattering and is the result of the Raman effect.
The main objective of this event is to encourage:
- creativity and innovation among young
people
- basic research work in the field of science and
technology

Registration
All interested students will have to register by filling the
attached registration form or which can be
downloaded from the RGSC website.
Duly filled Registration Form together with proposed
artwork on A3 size paper must reach RGSC by
Wednesday 13 May 2015.
Technical details:
1. The proposal must give clear indications of:
I). Design elements and colour scheme
ii). Pictorial Composition
iii). Technique
2. The following details must be written at the back
of each Entry:

All the entries will be assessed and selected best entries
will be invited to participate in the second round of the
Contest.

22 May 2015 and given details on ROUND TWO of the
competition.

SCIENCE MURAL CONTEST
Successful contestants will be invited to participate in the
Science Mural Contest scheduled for two consecutive
days i.e. Wednesday 25 and Thursday 26 March 2015 at
the RGSC, Bell Village.
All participants will have to reproduce their respective
original artwork/sketch submitted for Round 1 on a
wooden/metal board/mural (measuring 1.2m X 1.2m).
Boards, brushes and acrylic paints will be provided to
participants on the day of competition. Contestants who
fail to show up for Round 2 will be disqualified.
