Proposal for the Organization of the European Rheology Conference (AERC)

Dear Prof. Stading,
this letter serves to inform the ESR Executive Council and Committee that the Italian Society
of Rheology (SIR) applies as a potential candidate for the organization of the Annual
European Rheology Conference 2018.
Our aim is to host the Conference in the period 10-13 April in the historical town of Sorrento
in front of the enchanting Gulf of Naples dominated by Mount Vesuvius. This location offers
a wide variety of attractions for tourists, being an ideal spot for shopping, enjoying the
nightlife and visiting many historical points of interest.
The Conference will take place at the Hilton Sorrento Palace, a top quality Hotel with all the
features to guarantee an unforgettable stay with mountain and sea views. The Hilton Sorrento
Palace Congress Center, one of the largest meeting spaces in Italy, offers a large auditorium
that can seat 1500 participants and 24 meeting rooms.
The Chairmen of the Conference will be prof. Mario Minale, currently International Delegate
of the Italian Society of Rheology, prof. Giovanni Ianniruberto and prof, Stefano Guido, both
members of the Italian Society of Rheology.
The present letter also serves to underline the strong commitment of the Italian Society of
Rheology to support them in all respects and to guarantee the necessary financial commitment
for the feasibility of this event.
