Performance Camp
July 20-24,

Get ready to perform your heart out! In this camp, dancers will learn at least
three dances to perform as part of a special show. You'll get to perform the
show six times! Venues include Novato Farmer's Market, two retirement
homes, and Northgate Mall. We will finish off with a big performance at Six
Flags Discovery Kingdom and spend the day together in the park. To sign up
for this camp, you must have danced in the 2015 Rhythms spring
recital. Parents are required to drive to at least one camp event or pay a
driver opt-out fee of $20. Register for another weeklong dance camp and get
a $50 discount. Before and After Care is available; see page 8 for details.

These weeklong camps run from 10am-4pm,
Monday to Friday each week. Dancers will get a
little taste of every style, taking classes in jazz, hip
hop, contemporary, character, ballet, pom, tap,
modern, acting, and singing. In addition to dancing,
camp includes crafts, games, a walking field trip,
and a final show. Before and After Care is
available for working parents for $12/hour; see
page 8 for details. The camps for ages 7-13 are
open to all ability levels. The 13-18 year old
camps will be aimed at an advanced level and are
only for experienced and dedicated dancers.

These weeklong camps run from 10am-12pm, Monday through
Thursday and 1:30-3:30pm on Friday. Dancers will get to take
tap, jazz, ballet, and hip hop. There will also be lots of fun
games and crafts each day. The week will end with a fun show
at our studio. Before and After Care are available; please see

Ballet
Boot Camp

Keep up your ballet over the summer with Ballet Boot Camp! For
intermediate to advanced ballet dancers, students will meet with Ashley
T. for three Saturdays to brush up their battements and perfect their
pliés. Start the day with Stretch and Strength followed by Ballet
Technique. Then Pointe class (those dancers not yet on pointe will
wear flats for this class). After a lunch break, you’ll get to learn
choreography from some of the most famous ballet choreographers
from Jiri Kylian to Balanchine. Boot Camp will end with an informal
showcase at the Studio for parents. Come and get your grand jeté on!
Point Bonita
Dance Retreat

Our very special Point
Bonita Dance Retreat is a
weekend of dancing,
relaxing, and
bonding. You'll feel like
you're getting a tranquil spa
experience in the beautiful
Marin Headlands. Each day
we will be taking multiple
dance classes in all your
favorite styles and doing
some awesome bonding
activities. The retreat
begins at 4pm on Friday
and ends at 5pm on Sunday
with a short showcase for
family. Sign up deadline is
June 15, but sign up early
as we anticipate this
retreat filling up! More

One Day
Workshops

PARADE: JUNE 20, Ages 9-18
Join Kate and Cristina to perform for 10,000 people in
the Novato 4th of July parade! We will have a 50’s
theme with a soda shop, diner waitresses, and ice cream
sundaes! Lots of fun fifties music to dance to! Last year
we won the whole parade so this year we get to be the
first float! In addition to the June 20th rehearsal, we will
also rehearse on July 3rd from 3:30-6pm. On the 4th, we
will meet at 8:45am and be done by 11am.
HIP HOP: JULY 11, Ages 11-18
Shannon is ready to help you get your swag on! Dancers will learn 4 different routines,
learn about the history of hip hop, and get to sample a few of the unique techniques such as
Popping, Locking, Tutting, and much more!
JAZZ: JULY 18, Ages 11-18
Get your jazz hands ready! Ashley and Paige are excited to teach you three dynamic jazz
routines each in a different style. Plus, work on the exciting tricks that make jazz so much
fun like switch leaps, fouette turns, axels, and calypsos!
CHOREOGRAPHY AND IMPROV: JULY 25, Ages 11-18
Paige and Shannon will be giving dancers a chance to experiment
with different concepts in their improvisation. They’ll also be
teaching the skills needed to successfully create unique and
innovative choreography on their own.
VOICE: AUGUST 1, Ages 9-14
Come sing your heart out with Amanda! Students will get a
chance to improve their vocal technique and learn tricks for singing in tune and with
volume. The day will include warm-ups, ear training, learning musical theater songs, and
working on stage presence as a singer. Let go and find your voice in the supportive
presence of other Rhythms dancers!

HOW TO REGISTER:
This year we will be providing early
and after care for most of our
camps. Early care is from 8:30 –
10am each morning and after care
is from 4-5:30pm each evening.
Day care will be lead by a Rhythms
student, age 16-24 with CPR
training. They will lead campers in
crafts, games, reading time, and
lots of other fun activities.
We know it can be expensive
sending multiple kids to camp. So,
we offer a discount for families.
Once one family member has
registered, their siblings receive a
$50 discount on their own camp.
