RULES
1. The Judges decision is final
2. Any objection must be lodged within 10 minutes of class closing together with a £20 fee which will be
returned if the objection is upheld.
Where an objection is lodged towards the height of a horse or pony, if a valid height certificate cannot
not be produced on the day then the objection will stand and the animal will be disqualified from the
class and the prize (if awarded one) will be taken off them and handed to the next eligible competitor.
Where the objection relates to an age of a competitor, a valid form of ID will be required to prove their
age. If this cannot be produced on the day then the objection will stand and the rider will be disqualified
from the class and the prize (if awarded one) will be taken off them and handed to the next eligible
competitor.
2b. All ages for both horse & rider are taken from the 1st of January in the current year. All
riders/handlers must have attained their 3rd birthday in the 1st of January in the current year.
All ridden horse/ponies must be atleast 4yrs old to compete in a ridden class.
3. The Organisation reserve the right to alter, amalgamate or cancel classes if sufficient entries.
4. Hard Hats to current BSI standards with a chin strap to be worn in all ridden classes, and in-hand
classes by handlers 16 years and under unless a Non-Standard Hat Disclaimer is signed.
Non-Standard Hat Disclaimer cards must be carried by competitors at all times and produced to the ring
steward upon entering the ring. Top Hats may be worn in Championships & Supreme Championship.
5. Whips are not to exceed 30”.
6. No refund of entries will be allowed under any circimstances.
7. The Organisation or Landowners of this show will not be held responsible in any way for any loss,
damage or injury in any way.
8. No Mucking out of horseboxes on the showground.
9. The Organisers reserve the right to ask any one demonstrating cruelty or anti-social behaviour to
leave the showground and will be banned from any future events.
10. The Organisers reserve the right to cancel, split or amalgamate classes where there are insufficient
or too many entries.
11. All classes are open to registered and unregistered horses and ponies. Only Registered / eligible
horses and ponies may pick up the qualification.
Any competitor eligible for the Equifest Qualification must wear a Red Armband (to be provided by the
competitor).
12. IN ORDER TO KEEP THE RING RUNNING SMOOTHLY, ALL COMPETITORS MUST BE IN THE
COLLECTING RING WHILST THE CLASS BEFORE THEIRS IS ON AND MUST REMAIN IN THE
COLLECTING RING. IF YOU ARE NOT PRESENT WHEN YOUR CLASS IS DUE TO START THEN YOU
WILL NOT BE ALLOWED INTO THE RING ONCE THE CLASS HAS STARTED. IT IS UP TO THE
COMPETITOR TO ENSURE THEY DO NOT MISS THEIR CLASS. YOU WILL NOT BE REFUNDED IF YOU
MISS A CLASS.
13. NOVICE CLASS – Any horse or pony that has been placed 1st or 2nd in any Open showing class
before the 1st Jan 2014 is not eligible for this class. Please enter this class in the spirit that it is
intended.
14. No spurs are allowed to be worn by any competitor under the age of 16yrs in any class. Any
competitor over the age of 16yrs may wear spurs if riding a horse exceeding 148cms and if the class
allows it.
15. By entering any class you agree to abide by the Rules above.

Main Indoor – Not before 1pm - PLEASE SEE RULE 12 REGARDING BEING IN THE
COLLECTING RING READY FOR YOUR CLASS.
14. Pre-Novice (Walk & Trot Only) – 4yr old & over, Snaffle Bridle Only. No Cantering is required in this class either
on the go-round or individual show. No Spurs allowed.
*THIS CLASS IS AIMED AT THE NEWLY BACKED HORSE/PONY THAT IS NOT QUITE READY FOR THE NOVICE CLASS
AND NOVICE RIDERS NOT READY FOR OPEN CLASSES.
*ANIMALS ENTERING THIS CLASS MAY ALSO ENTER THE NOVICE CLASS IF THEY WISH BUT NOT ANY OTHER RIDDEN
CLASS AT THE SAME SHOW.
IN THE CASE OF A VERY NOVICE RIDER WISHING TO ENTER THIS CLASS, THEY ARE ALLOWED TO ALSO COMPETE IN
THE NOVICE CLASS ASWELL AND THE HORSE/PONY MAY BE RIDDEN IN ANY OTHER CLASS BY A DIFFERENT RIDER.
NOVICE FIRST RIDDEN RIDERS/PONIES ARE ALLOWED TO COMPETE IN THE FIRST RIDDEN CLASS AS WELL AS THIS
CLASS AND THE NOVICE CLASS. ***PLEASE ENTER THIS CLASS IN THE SPIRIT IT IS INTENDED***
15. Novice Horse/Pony - 4yrs old & over, Any suitable bridle. Class will be spilt into horses & ponies if entries
warrant. No spurs allowed. Any horse or pony that has been placed 1st or 2nd in any Open showing class before the 1st
Jan 2014 is not eligible for this class. PLEASE ENTER THIS CLASS IN THE SPIRIT THAT IT IS INTENDED.
Novice Championship – 1st & 2nd from Classes 14 & 15 to compete
16. Lead Rein Pony – The class is open to any lead rein combination with rider 9yrs old & under. Show ponies &
M&M ponies not exceeding 128cm and Show Hunter Ponies not exceeding 122cm, but only the two highest placed
eligible exhibits in each of the sections below will qualify. IF YOU ARE ELIGIBLE FOR THE EQUIFEST QUALIFICATION YOU

EXCLUDING the following - Dartmoor, Exmoor, Shetland, Welsh A and B, Connemara, Dales, Fell, New Forest,
Highland, Welsh C and D. PART BRED WELSH ARE ELIGIBLE. The two highest placed Part Bred exhibits in each of the sections below
