I understand no royalties will be received for these performances but if selected for the final, the participants of this production may be eligible for prizes. I have read the terms and conditions provided in this document (see next page), understand them, and agree to adhere to them. If this entry is associated with a school or organisation, I state that the school/ organisation has full knowledge of this entry and has given the appropriate permission for these students to be involved and to represent the school. Signed: Date: 1. Each play must be 10 minutes or less in duration. Plays will be timed during the heat technical run and any play that exceeds this time limit will be asked to cut down their script. Failure to do so for the heat performance could result in disqualification. 2. The plays performed must be new works written by a person aged 18 years or under, and attending a secondary training institution or other training institution (e.g. drama academy). Plays will be accepted from people over 18 only if they are currently studying at a secondary institution (excluding private drama academies). 3. All performers and directors must be 18 years of age or under. 4. Each production must have a Producer who is over 18 years of age. The producer will be the contact person for this production (i.e. a teacher or parent). If the producer is not able be present on the daythere must be a responsible adult (at least 18 years of age) present with each group to provide supervision for the entire duration of the technical run and performance. There are no exceptions- and a group may be refused entry to the site unless accompanied by a responsible adult. 5. Each production is allowed to bring in any set pieces or personal props required specifically for their production. However- as time for set changes between each act is limited- we ask these are kept to a minimum. 6. Technical requirements should be basic, as a standard lighting plot will be used for all productions. Any other specific technical requirements- such a projection- should be arranged in advance with the organisers of SHARP SHORT THEATRE. These should not be relied upon as it may not be possible to accommodate your request. 7. Any music or sound effects required should be supplied to the sound operator on a CD or USB memory device, along with a script clearly marking where they music is to be used. You MUST have indicated all music to be used during your production on your APRA* form (to be submitted by 1st May 2015) otherwise you will not be allowed to use it on the day. 8. Please note that SHARP SHORT THEATRE is a youth competition and therefore content of the entries must be reasonably suitable for a family audience. The producer must advise Riverside of any coarse language, adult themes or anything that might be inappropriate for a family audience ahead of time to allow Riverside to issue appropriate warnings to ticket purchasers. Riverside reserves the right not to allow a production to be performed should it be deemed unsuitable for this audience. *APRA (Australian Performing Rights Association) requires Riverside to pay royalties for each piece of music used in a live performance attended by paying members of the public.
