At round-‐about, turn right onto Martin Springs Drive and proceed 0.7 miles. Baymont Inn & Suites is at the corner of Martin Spring Drive and Blues Lake Pkwy. Road Race Headquarters is at Columbia College, 0.2 miles south of Baymont on Blues Lake Pkwy. Race finish is 0.2 miles south of HQ at Blues Lake Pkwy and Bridge School Road. ● ALL participants must check-‐in at the registration table no later than 30 minutes prior to their race start. ● Entry fee includes USAC insurance and MOBRA fee. ● All riders will be required to sign a rider release form. ● Please respect property owners by using portable toilets provided. Public urination is punishable by disqualification in addition to any action by local law enforcement. ● All numbers provided by promoter must be used. No folding or cutting of numbers allowed. ● Valid and current USA Cycling license must be presented at packet pick up. ● Non-‐licensed riders must purchase a USAC one-‐day license for $15.00. One-‐Day licenses are only available to riders who have not upgraded beyond beginner categories (Men Cat 5 and Women Cat 4). ● Race is held under USA Cycling Event Permit. Only the above listed races are permitted and sanctioned by USA Cycling. ● All 2015 USAC rules apply. Centerline rule strictly enforced. In addition to awarding Missouri State Championship honors, Hellbender racers in applicable categories qualify for: ● MOBAR (Missouri Best All-‐around Racer) and Graffiti racing series points: http://mobra.org/ ● National Graffiti Road Weekly Racing Series points: http://www.aluminumcowboycycling.com/graffiti-‐road.html Race results will be supplied to MOBRA (Missouri Bicycle Racing Association) and the National Graffiti Road Weekly Racing Series. Scoring decisions will be made after the race by those organizations. ● Awards ceremony will occur at race headquarters 15min after standings are official. ● Riders must be present to receive non-‐cash prizes and awards. Cash prizes will be mailed within 30 days to the address you supply at registration but any non-‐cash prize or medals will be forfeited. ● All Masters will start together and will be scored separately based on registered age grouping. ● Juniors <15 will start together. Juniors 15-‐18 will start together. Scoring will be based on registered age groupings. ● For Junior categories, USAC Junior gear restrictions apply and DEVO Series guidelines will be followed where practicable. Delay of start will occur as needed until it is safe to resume. ● In the event that the weather does not allow the event to start the race will then be shortened or canceled. ● Upon the cancellation of the event it will not be rescheduled for that calendar year. ● Refunds will not be offered due to an event being canceled because of weather. ● It is the riders’ responsibility to check results and bring any issues to the Chief Judge before prizes are awarded. Once awarded prizes are considered final. ● Final results will be posted at: http://www.usacycling.org and http://www.stlbiking.com/events/2014/hellbender 2 revised 5/20/2015 Course Information: Adult Categories The course is a “lollipop” route proceeding from Rolla to Newburg, then looping through 35 miles of quiet, scenic rural highways within the Mark Twain National Forest before returning to Rolla. The 87 mile option includes two loops; the 52 mile option uses a single loop; the junior courses use a portion of the loop. All options use the same finish point in Rolla. 3 revised 5/20/2015 Course Information: Junior Categories Junior 9-‐10, 11-‐12, and 13-‐14 categories use the same start and finish as the adult categories, and ride out-‐and-‐back courses. Junior 9-‐10 and 11-‐12 turn around in Doolittle, Missouri, riding a total of 11.4 miles. Junior 13-‐14 turn around in Newburg, Missouri, riding 16 miles total. The Junior 15-‐16 and 17-‐18 categories begin in Flat, Missouri, and ride 31 miles back to the same finish line used by all courses. 4 revised 5/20/2015 Feed Zone Access Approach the feed zones using the directions below – do not create extra traffic on the course! Parking is limited along the North Feed Zone; it is a rural highway with no shoulder. Do not park on private property. These two zones are the only legal locations for support people to supply racers. Racers are responsible for arranging their own support.
