From the Principal Tena koutou katoa WEEK NINE – It’s best to know what are the ways that you learn best. Learning is a co-operative process and teachers and students should discuss what are the best ways for learning to occur. Our Kapa Haka group performed at the ASB Polyfest today with much energy and enjoyment. Their pride in themselves, the school and their culture was evident in the polished performance. My thanks go to all the students involved and to their tutors for all the hard work that went into the preparation. Today we hosted a group of 21 students from Thailand for a day’s experience in a New Zealand school. Next week, our Japanese sister school, Yamato Nishi High School, will be in school for 3 days. Thank you to the student buddies, homestay families and teachers who give these visitors a memorable experience. Best wishes to the final two houses, Taikura and Kahurangi, who go on camp to Waharau next week and the staff and senior students who will be looking after them. Entered for the standards? Check that standards have been entered for in all subjects and if any credits have been achieved yet. With the coming of cooler weather, a number of students are choosing to wear hoodies to school instead of correct uniform. The uniform has a fleece lined jacket, a wool jersey and a polar fleece that has been introduced this year. The polar fleece is available from the school shop for $42. Hoodies are not to be worn and will be confiscated. Go to the school website and then the Student/parent portal. Enter the student number as username and your parent password which were emailed or sent by letter to you mid-February this year. Click on Current Year Results to see the standards entered in each subject and any results so far.
