The Youth Plan (ages 7-21)
Golfclub Rozenstein has officially been awarded the certification “Committed to Youth” by the
Netherlands Golf Federation (NGF). This means that the club has demonstrated offering a structured
Youth Plan in line with the NGF requirements set to take Dutch youth golf to a higher level for both the
recreational and competitive golfer.
Under the motto “Train, Play and Fun” the Rozenstein Youth Committee enthuses, trains and prepares
the youth for the compulsory requirements/certificates as set by the NGF for all golfers in the
Netherlands. The initial stage is to obtain Course Permission (Step 1), followed by the Golf Skills
Certificate (Step 2) and of course the ultimate goal - to obtain an official EGA Handicap.
The Youth Committee looks after the interests of the youth within Rozenstein and keeps them
informed of all relevant activities both in- and outside the club.
The youth teams receive approximately 20 hours of training sessions per year. These sessions are
provided by the professionals Eduard Schwarz (club professional) and Huite Hak. Each team normally
consists of 7 youths grouped not only by age but where possible also by golf experience and ability.
Our Youth Coaches provide warming up/cooling down sessions and support the Pro during the
training. After the training they take their team for further practise to the Pitch and Putt or into the golf
course – depending on the team’s playing level. The training always ends in the club house with
refreshments and team discussions on the day’s progress. The Coaches not only accompany the
teams during the training but where necessary also during club competitions and other golf related
activities.
The training sessions are held mainly on Sunday and are, where possible, planned outside of school
holidays. Although there are no training sessions during the winter season activities may be planned.
Youth between the age of 7 and 21 are eligible to sign up for Rozenstein’s Annual Youth Card.
Last but not least:

The Youth Committee is always looking for enthusiastic parents who are willing to invest time in
their children during training, matches and other activities.
