Introducing Durham Festival!
WHEN Thursday, August 13—Sunday, August 16 2015.
What
Durham Festival is a celebration of culture showcasing food, concerts, cycling, innovation,
performances and creative expression of all kinds.
This is Durham like you’ve never seen it before: united within a lively celebration of the diverse
communities that call our region home. The four festival pillars are connection, inclusion,
collaboration and unity.
Who
Everyone is welcome to take part! In this first year, the festival team is led by Durham Tourism
and a small committee with extensive support from Durham’s eight municipalities along with
local organizations and businesses. Smaller festivals and events are encouraged to join in!
Why
This is our chance to offer visitors a glimpse into the best Durham has to offer. With millions
of eyes on the area as Ajax, Whitby and Oshawa host aspects of the Pan Am/Parapan Am
Games, Durham Festival will begin as the games come to a close, keeping the momentum alive.

Elevation2015 Get your excitement in gear with this ticketed
conference dedicated to the passion of cycling, held
at the Ajax Convention Centre. Ignite your cycling
spirit with stories from inspiring speakers and learn
about the latest trends and innovations in cycling
design and engineering.
Picasso's Picnic
A festival celebrating youth and the arts. Delight in an
outdoor day of arts, crafts, drama and music
showcasing Clarington’s young talents, and enjoy a
picnic by the Soper Creek Trail.
Woodland Disco and glowfest Create memories with family and friends! Taking place
in the heart of Oshawa at Parkwood Estate, this free
event features a D.J. dance party, glow art, interactive
activity stations and more.
Whitby Harbour Days – Regional Festival The Waterfront awaits! Enjoy a fun-filled day along the
water. This free, family focused event celebrates
Whitby’s beautiful Waterfront.
Taste Ajax Savour the flavour of this culinary celebration featuring
gourmet food trucks, local restaurants and craft beer.
Explore the Artisan’s Marketplace and enjoy live
entertainment, buskers, cooking demonstrations and
special chef presentations..
Performance in Pickering Experience the magic of Dusk Dances in the Park,
Driftwood Theatre in the Square, plus have fun along
the Waterfront Trail. North Durham Village Stop by the North Durham Village to experience a
taste of what the northern townships of Brock, Scugog
and Uxbridge have to offer. Learn about their historic
downtowns, lakes and trails, and the best of rural life. Ride4UnitedWay Gran Fondo This epic bike ride and fundraiser will get you moving
across the Region — through small towns and along scenic
roads — with courses and distances for fitness, recreational
and competitive cyclists alike. Ride starts and finishes at
Oshawa Legends Centre. Pre-registration is required.
