INTERNATIONAL TEAM EXCELLENCE AWARD
PROCESS/QUALITY IMPACT SESSIONS
See how companies from around the world
are successfully using quality tools!
For nearly 30 years, the International Team Excellence Award Process has provided teams all
over the world with a platform to showcase their commitment to improvement and performance
excellence. Teams from more than 20 countries have participated in this unique process to
demonstrate how they are successfully using quality tools to make improvements to reduce costs,
increase efficiency, and improve customer satisfaction.
Attend these live case studies during the 2015 World Conference on Quality and Improvement
and learn how you can implement these tools to make a difference in your organization.
HERE ARE JUST SOME OF THE STORIES FROM THE 2014 FINALISTS …
• Using the Lean Six Sigma approach and DMAIC methodology, one organization lowered
its damage rate by 3 percent, leading to annual savings of $1.3 million.
• One automotive manufacturer applied the 8D methodology, using DoE, Ishikawa diagram,
priority matrix, finite elements analysis, simulations, and FMEA among other tools to solve a
malfunction that saved the company 110 million euros in potential corporate losses, warranty
claims, and machinery investment.
• A government agency used a PDCA and tools like Gantt chart, Pareto analysis, cause and
effect analysis, decision matrix, SCAMPER, and tree diagram to uncover root causes and
generate solutions for an ongoing problem and saved them approximately $1.6 million.
HERE IS WHAT PAST PARTICIPANTS HAD TO SAY …
“ASQ’s International Team Excellence Award Process provides a perfect opportunity
for organizations to share their success stories and exchange best practices with other
international organizations.”
“By participating in the ASQ International Team Excellence Award Process, we have been
able to benchmark our teams against some of the best in the world. As a result, we have
been able to identify and implement improvements to our team systems. In addition, the
ITEA Process has become an important form of recognition for our employees who make
significant contributions to our business through their participation on improvement teams.”
