Everyone is invited to participate in this fantastic family-friendly event! Proceeds from Running for the Arts will directly benefit the
Spring Branch Independent School District’s ARTS Partners Program and the SBISD Health Fitness Program. The ARTS Partners
Program provides cultural art experiences for all SBISD students while SBISD’s Health Fitness Program educates students on the
best way to live a healthy lifestyle.
Support the Arts in Your Sleep by Being a Saturday Sleep-In Sponsor
This sponsorship opportunity gives you the best of both worlds...sleeping in on Race Day while supporting the
students of SBISD. Included in the Saturday Sleep-In Sponsor package are four event t-shirts and credit for your
child’s school toward the Highest Participation Contest. T-shirts may be picked up during normal Packet Pickup hours
at Memorial City Mall. Be sure to fully complete the registration form to receive your t-shirts.

Where
Race begins and ends at Memorial City Mall, close to the JC
Penney entrance off Barryknoll. Awards Ceremony will be held in
the parking lot in front of the Food Court entrance.
Events
Event #1: Competitive 5K Run
Event #2: Non-Competitive 5K Run/Walk
Event #3: Kids K for 8th Grade and Under participants (includes
Hula Hoop Bash, Jump Rope Blast and other non-competitive
kid-friendly activities)

Sanction
Running for the Arts is sanctioned by USA Track & Field.
Restrictions
Due to insurance regulations, the race course is closed to bikes,
roller blades, pets, strollers, and baby joggers. Headphones are
prohibited.
First Aid/Water
Water will be available at the Start/Finish line as well as in the
parking lot of Frostwood Elementary. Medical aid will be available.
Packet Pickup Dates and Location
Packet Pickup will be held in the Food Court area of
Memorial City Mall. For best selection of t-shirt sizes,
please pickup your packet early. Race Day packet pickups
not guaranteed to receive size ordered.
Thursday, April 30 from 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Friday, May 1 from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Saturday, May 2 from 6:30 a.m. - 7:15 a.m.
NO RACE DAY REGISTRATIONS!
Post Race Party and Awards Ceremony
Join us after the race for free refreshments and musical
entertainment. The Awards Ceremony will be held at the
completion of the Kids K.
Awards
Overall Male and Female winners will receive a $300
Memorial City Mall gift card. Overall Masters Male and
Female winners will receive a $200 Memorial City Mall gift
card. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers in all competitive 5K
divisions will receive a Running for the Arts medal.
The SBISD school that has the highest percentage of
participants based on school enrollment will receive a $500
Young Audiences of Houston gift certificate and a $500
Academy gift card to use for their Health Fitness
Department. All SBISD schools that have at least 10
registrations will be entered into a drawing. There will be
two winning schools; one will win a $500 Young Audiences
of Houston gift certificate and one will win a $500
Academy gift card.
Prizes
Random drawings for fantastic prizes courtesy of Memorial
City Mall and area merchants will be made throughout
Race Day morning. All participants are eligible but must be
present to win.
