Have you signed up for the 2015 Light Up The Corners 4 Mile Run? Do you want to become more active but just don’t
know where to start? We have the answer for you!
Couch to Corners is a free training program designed for people who are just starting out. It is a flexible program that is
not dependent on your current level of fitness. You do not have to be a member of the YMCA. Everyone is welcome!
The goal of Couch to Corners is prepare you, by August 15th, to complete Light Up The Corners at a pace that suits your
individual abilities. Whether you walk, jog or run Light Up The Corners we want you to have a great time.
Couch to Corners is led by Jim Hearn. Jim is a certified instructor with both USA Track and Field and the Road Runners
Club of America. Through a series of incremental steps, Jim and his team will prepare you to successfully complete Light
Up The Corners.
Starting the first week in June, we will meet once a week at The Robert D. Fowler Family YMCA for a group meeting and
exercise. You will be given goals to accomplish on your own during each week.
We have two Couch to Corners groups – a morning and an evening group. Sign up for whichever group suits your
schedule. Wear comfortable exercise attire and walking or running shoes.
