This student program educates selected students about the policymaking process, effective
communication and pharmacy issues before participating in the NACDS RxIMPACT Day on
Capitol Hill event.

6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. NACDS RxIMPACT Day on Capitol Hill Pioneer Celebration Reception

Nearly 70 leaders from over 20 states showcased their place in history when they stepped forward
to say being involved is so important they committed before all others! All event participants are
invited to attend this reception that celebrates the leadership of NACDS RxIMPACT Day on
Capitol Hill Pioneers who blazed the way for others to participate in this annual event!
7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. NACDS RxIMPACT Day on Capitol Hill Welcome Dinner

Our Welcome Dinner brings participants together with special guest speaker Amy Walter, the
National Editor of The Cook Political Report.

Participants who have yet to check in should do so at this time. Those already registered should
report to the Independence Ballroom for their table assignments; once again registrants will sit
with their assigned teams, with whom they will travel to their Capitol Hill “team” meetings.

7:45 a.m. - 9:15 a.m. Breakfast Briefing featuring House Energy and Commerce Health Subcomittee
Vice Chairman U.S. Representative Brett Gutherie (doors open at 7:15 a.m.)

This briefing educates participants about effective communication, showcases what to expect
from the event, reviews how to talk about the issues of the day, and grants teams the time they
need to determine strategic Hill appointment approaches.
9:15 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
Transportation to Capitol Hill
Lobby of Marriott Marquis, “L” Street Entrance
Motor coaches depart for House or Senate drop off locations beginning at 9:15 a.m. Teams with
10:00 a.m. appointments should quickly proceed to the lobby level and board the first available
motor coach. Transportation departs from the “L” Street entrance, on the opposite side of the
lobby from the hotel’s main entrance. NACDS staff and signs will direct you to the transportation
location. Teams are responsible for their return transportation to the Marriott Marquis
Hotel.
10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. NACDS RxIMPACT-Scheduled Hill Appointments
Various Capitol Hill Offices
See individual schedules for location and times. Participants are grouped with others from
their state and travel together to meetings. An experienced guide will escort attendees to/from
meetings.
12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Lunch
The Capitol Hill Club, Third Floor
Participants enjoy lunch, relax, and continue networking with advocates.
2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Afternoon Debriefing
The Capitol Hill Club, Third Floor
In between appointments, participants can visit the debriefing room to enjoy refreshments, write
meeting thank you notes, and share the results of their meetings and experiences.
5:00 p.m. - 6:00pm NACDS RxIMPACT Day on Capitol Hill Closing Reception
Marriott Marquis, Capitol and Congress Rooms, Meeting Level 4
All participants are invited to this closing reception that celebrates the leadership of attending
advocates!
