Your Designated Volunteering Parking Lot: Parking passes are required.
Volunteer parking passes will be provided within the credential packet distributed at each committee’s training
session. Parking passes will be provided only for the days a volunteer is scheduled for a shift, and are assigned
based on where the volunteer needs to be dropped off. You are encouraged to use the volunteer parking pass as
it will provide you the most efficient means to be dropped off near your volunteer committee’s check-in
location.
General Spectator Parking Lots: Parking passes are not required.
RED Lot: Washington State Fairgrounds, located east of Chambers Bay
BLUE Lot: Fort Steilacoom Park, located south of Chambers Bay
Passenger, Taxi, or Limousine Drop-Off: Passenger, taxi or limousine drop-off will only be allowed at the
designated area located at Sunset Primary School in University Place, Wash., within a short walk of Gate 2.
There is no parking or staging for vehicles, so please coordinate pick-up times accordingly. Please follow
directional signs and parking attendants to the appropriate pick-up and drop-off location. Due to traffic
restrictions, access is limited to vehicles no larger than a 12-passenger van or limousine.
Bicycles: Spectators and volunteers choosing to ride a bicycle to the championship are instructed to follow
directions and signage to the General Spectator parking lots (BLUE Lot or RED Lot) or to the designated

possible. Volunteers and spectators alike can carpool in the same vehicle, including those using the volunteer
parking options.

Volunteer Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I have received my volunteer apparel in the mail and it doesn’t fit! What should I do?
A: Volunteers who live in close proximity to University Place, Wash., are invited to come to the volunteer
apparel exchange on May 15 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and May 16 (9 a.m. to 1 p.m.) at the Pierce County
Environmental Services Building in University Place. Volunteers who are unable to attend the apparel exchange
can come June 11 or later to the Main Merchandise Pavilion located at Spectator Square. Apparel exchanges are
on a first-come, first-served basis.
Q: I can no longer volunteer and I already received my apparel. Can I still get a refund?
A: Yes! You must return your volunteer apparel in its original packaging before we will issue the refund. If you
need to withdraw, please contact the championship office at [email protected] or (253)883-3433.
Q: How do I receive my credential packet?
A: Volunteer credential packets will be handed out at volunteer training sessions. If you are unable to attend
your training session, you can request that your credential packet be shipped to you by emailing the
Championship Office by May 31. We will not ship local or international credential packets. If you are a local or
international volunteer, you can pick your packet up at Will Call 1, located in Spectator Square at Chambers Bay,
from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning Thursday, June 11, through Sunday, June 14. Parking for these four days will
be located across from Pierce County’s Environmental Services Building in University Place. From the parking
lot, complimentary shuttling will be provided to the will call facility.
Q: I never received my volunteer schedule. Who do I contact?
A: If you did not receive a volunteer schedule, please email the championship office at [email protected].
Q: On days I am not volunteering, will I be able to watch the U.S. Open Championship by boat?
A: Unfortunately, no. The U.S. Coast Guard, in conjunction with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office, has
established a temporary security zone where no vessels will be allowed within 1,000 yards of the shore bordering
the golf course. This action is necessary to ensure the safety and security of competitors, spectators and
Grandstands
championship
officials.
