NEW BUSINESS .1 Introduction of Chair and Committee Members The Chair and Mayor welcomed all committee members, staff, and others present to the Inaugural meeting of the Parks, Recreation and Culture Advisory Committee. Attendees briefly introduced themselves and their interests pertaining to the committee. Minutes of the Parks, Recreation and Culture Advisory Committee meeting, held on April 15, 2015, at 3:00 PM in Room 530 of Abbotsford City Hall Page 2 .2 Orientation and Overview of City Committees by Bill Flitton, City Clerk The Director, Legislative Services/City Clerk presented a PowerPoint regarding the legal requirements and general procedures of Council Advisory Committees; the Community Charter; the City’s Committee Protocol Policy; and the committee member’s roles and responsibilities. Moved by R. Pauls, seconded by L. Schlagintweit, that the report and presentation by the Director, Legislative Services/City Clerk, be received for information. CARRIED. .3 Introduction of Key Staff The General Manager, Parks, Recreation and Culture, presented a PowerPoint highlighting the PRC Management team and their services for the City. Moved by L. Bell, seconded by G. Keys, that the report by the General Manager, Parks, Recreation and Culture, be received for information. CARRIED. .4 Request by Chair to share email addresses – Added agenda item Committee members agreed to share email addresses with each other in order to aid communication between committee members and staff. Moved by R. Pauls, seconded by B. Day, that email addresses be shared within the Committee for communication purposes. CARRIED .5 Confirmation of Meeting Schedule, Dates, Times and Meeting Location The Chair reviewed the 2015 Meeting Schedule. The committee members agreed to meet the 3rd Wednesday of the month, starting at 3:00 pm. Moved by R. Kobes, seconded by B. Singh Bansal, that the meeting schedule be adopted as proposed.
