Anne-Marie DELORT is Director of Research at the CNRS and Head of the Institute of Chemistry of Clermont-Ferrand in France. She has published more than 120 papers in peered reviews. In addition to a general background in chemistry and molecular biology, Anne-Marie Delort’s expertise covers Microbiology and NMR spectroscopy. She specifically studies microbial metabolism in relation with the environment, including the biodegradation of organic compounds. Her main topics of interest cover: 1) The metabolism of cloud microorganisms and its impact on atmospheric chemistry. The objective is to show if biodegradation is an alternative route to photodegradation of chemicals in cloud waters. 2) The biodegradation of polymers and more specifically of Oxo-Biodegradable plastics. In addition to fundamental research in this domain, she has developed a test to assess the oxobiodegradability of polyolefinic materials. (AFNOR agreement AC T 51e808. 2012).
