Weekend
June 4-7,
2015
W
Welcome back
Alumni!
When were you last back on campus? Has it been 5, 10, 25, or even 50 years? However long it
has been, we hope you consider returning to The College of Wooster for a weekend with fellow
Scots, current students, and faculty.
We have coordinated several days of activties including musical performances, opportunities
for intellectual enrichment, tours of campus, and socials and special meals with your class.
Now is the time to register, confirm your travels plans, and consider making your reunion gift
to The Wooster Fund which can be done using the enclosed registration form.
We look forward to seeing you in June!

Highlights
of the Weekend
APEX: THE PEAK OF
THE STUDENT EXPERIENCE
Visit with students, faculty and staff to learn about APEX,
the College’s Center for Advising, Planning, and Experiential
Learning. From entrepreneurial endeavors to AMRE consulting
jobs to APEX Fellowships across the globe, Wooster students
are participating in life-changing experiences outside of the
classroom. We invite you to one of two sessions on Friday to
hear from students about these enriching experiences.
A COLLEGE UPDATE WITH PRESIDENT CORNWELL
President Cornwell and other members of the College’s leadership team will provide a brief update on the College and will
accept questions from the audience. Learn about Wooster’s
strategic priorities and plans for the future as we build on the
remarkable success of Grant Cornwell.
CLASS OF ’65 PANEL DISCUSSIONS
The Class of ’65 is hosting two panels on Friday afternoon
which are open to all who are interested! The first panel
offers thoughtful reflection on women’s experiences during
the past 50 years and will be moderated by Deborah Knorr
Haavik ’65. The second panel, moderated by Grant Sherwood
’65, takes a look at differences in the student experiences
from 1965 through today.
MAIN STREET WOOSTER
Catch the shuttle to Liberty Street to explore, shop, and dine
downtown! Over the past 25 years, more than $145 million
has been invested in downtown Wooster. Check out our
revitalized and vibrant city!
PARTY ON THE PATIO
Enjoy one of Wooster’s favorite warm weather traditions – the
Party on the Patio! Between 8 and 10 p.m., plan to stop by,
stay awhile, and catch up with friends on the beautiful back
patio of The Wooster Inn. A minimal cover charge includes
unlimited hors d’oeuvres and one complimentary beverage.
ALL-CLASS BREAKFAST & PARADE OF CLASSES
Following Saturday morning’s breakfast in Lowry Dining
Room, bagpipers will lead all alumni in the annual Parade of
Classes. The parade will pass through the Kauke Arch and
into McGaw Chapel for the 131st Annual Meeting of the
Alumni Association.
131st ANNUAL ALUMNI MEETING
Celebrate the achievements of our reunion classes during the
Annual Meeting! Alumni Association President Steve Graff ’68
will preside as we recognize classes for reunion attendance
and reunion giving success, as well as acknowledging the
recipients of the alumni service awards.
DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI AWARDS CEREMONY
The Distinguished Alumni Award, the highest honor bestowed
upon Wooster alumni by fellow alumni, will be presented on
Saturday to Dr. Barbara Frajola Atkinson ’64 and Dr. David R.
Hopkins ’70. Everyone is encouraged to attend this very
meaningful ceremony at Scheide Music Center, following
their class lunches.
BANANA SPLITS & BLUEGRASS
Saturday afternoon, alumni can catch up with Wooster faculty
and friends as they enjoy a traditional ice cream social, with
live music, on the south lawn of Kauke Hall. Guests are also
encouraged to stroll down the street for tours of the new
Gault Schoolhouse!
GAULT SCHOOLHOUSE TOURS
The Gault Schoolhouse: from elementary school to human
services center to the College’s newest residence hall. Stop
down during Banana Splits & Bluegrass for a tour of this
incredible historic structure, re-invented as loft-style living
for Wooster students!
TASTE OF WOOSTER CELEBRATION
Coccia House Pizza, mint brownies from TJ’s, and house made
breads from Broken Rocks are just a few of the signature local
items included in Saturday night’s Taste of Wooster Celebration. Join us in Lowry Center for a social hour featuring
beers from JAFB Wooster Brewery and wines from Troutman
Vineyards; followed by a wonderful meal featuring the best
of our local farms and restaurants. All of Wooster’s most
delicious offerings in one location...what could be better?
WESTMINSTER PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
Pastor Andries Coetzee and the Westminster congregation
invite you to join their worship celebration on Sunday morning. Alumni are welcome to sing in the church choir and
participate in the service led by Dr. David L. Petersen ’65.

financial support. Successful reunion classes set the
standard for both Alumni Weekend attendance and gift
to The Wooster Fund to inspire other classes to do the
same. WE hope you will join in celebrating your years
at Wooster by contributing to your class gift.
