Message from SAFOG
Preliminary Scientific Program
I am delighted to inform you that the10th biennial SAFOG congress will
be held at the famous Himalayan city of Kathmandu from 3rd to 5th April,
2015. The Nepal Society of Obstetrics & Gynecology will be hosting this
conference along with their own International Conference in Obstetrics and
Gynecology. Since SAFOG started its journey from Lahore
Dr. Alokendu Chatterjee
in 1996 under the dynamic leadership of some of the Doyans
President, SAFOG
of our profession from the South Asian Sub continent,
the SAFOG congress is being held at a regular intervals of every two years, rotating
amongthe constituent countries. This biennial conference is now being attended by large
number of Obstetricians & Gynecologists, not only from the South Asian region, but
also from the various other parts of the world. Many International faculties and various
international organisations have joined hands with SAFOG to make these events worth
remembering. We expect the same trend to follow at Kathmandu. The theme topic
for 10th SAFOG Congress at Nepal is.“Looking Beyond MDG4 and MDG5 in South
Asia”—which is very appropriate for the year 2015.
I cordially invite you to please join us at Kathmandu on those dates and enrich us with
your new inputs for our speciality. We will organise various forms of interactions, from
series of symposia to panel discussions to key note addresses and of course some very
special lectures.

Dr. Veena Shrivastava

Dr. Heera Tuladhar
Organizing Secretary
Dear esteemed SAFOG colleagues
We are honored to invite you to attend 10th SAFOG and 12th international NESOG
joint conference from 3rd-5th April,2015 at Kathmandu, the capital city of the beautiful
country of Himalayas. We have chosen theme for the conference – “Looking Beyond
MDG 4&5 in South Asia”. Year 2015 is the last year of achieving health related MDG
including maternal and child health goals, set in the year 2000. Therefore, critical review
of progress in South Asian region is needed to ascertain sustainability of achievements
and to continue efforts for more sustainable results. I am sure that deliberations from
SAFOG, AOFOG and FIGO experts together with representatives from various
international and national organizations will enrich this scientific gathering and help
develop roadmap to progress further for better maternal, neonatal and child health in
this region.
Nepal is an attractive tourist destination for its breathtaking landscape and trekking.
Historically, Kathmandu has been a popular place for sight seeing and shopping
opportunities. We cordially request you to block these dates in your calendar and give
us the pleasure to offer you a complete package of scientific discussion/deliberations,
social events, cultural program, conference tourism and a wonderful Nepali hospitality.
Looking forward to welcome you and offer you a great congress-SAFOGCON, 2015.
