Luke Black’s life work focuses on fostering opportunities for communities to raise their voices and create social change. Luke holds an MA in Transformational Leadership from Seattle University and is currently finishing a MS in Justice Studies at Arizona State University. Luke has trained in nonviolent civil resistance, advocacy, social movement, leadership development, and anti-racism. Luke has worked in the non-profit sector domestically for the past 10 years and has also served with numerous international NGOs. Luke Black, MA – Equal Voices Facilitator, Arizona Community Action Association Featured Lunch Speaker: Kimberly Will, State Program Director Corporation for National and Community Service A graduate of University of Northern Iowa, Kimberly Hill has focused her career on community engagement and building the capacity of national service programs. Following graduation, Kimberly served in the first class of the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) program, in Denver, Colorado. It was from that one year, full-time experience, that Kimberly learned the value and community impact of national service programs. Leveraging her NCCC experience, Kimberly went on to coordinate a Learn and Serve program in Delano California where she designed AmeriCorps training curriculum for a CNCS funded AmeriCorps program, sponsored by the Bakersfield Unified High School District, in Bakersfield, California. In 1998, Kimberly was accepted into the United States Peace Corps, serving in Peace Corps-Jamaica from 1998-2000. There, Kimberly worked with the Catholic Diocese and Jamaica Aids Support to design a small arts and crafts business, engaging and benefiting HIV/AIDS positive clients. In 2001, upon returning to the states, Kimberly was hired by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe, located in Tucson, Arizona, serving in the role of Community Development Coordinator for three years, before coming to CNCS.
