Sahi Pro enables test automation at a healthcare services organization About The Company The Company is a healthcare-focused technology services and solutions organization. Challenges The Company needed to do Quality Assurance (QA) Automation for one of their customers, which assists hospitals and health systems in managing their populations of patients remotely. This platform consists of several products that enable the providers, employers and payers to positively influence consumer decision through their personalized and interactive multi-channel engagement. The major challenges faced by the QA team were as follows: . . . Need to expand Test Automation for all the products of the customer. Helping the customer succeed better with their existing automation efforts. Minimal test automation maintenance. Solution In order to solve the challenges, the QA team . . . Used industry best practices and recommended a QA Automation framework to be used for code reusability, easy maintenance of scripts and test data and portability of test environment Leveraged QA Automation best practices and recommended setting up a dedicated application environment for automation script development and dedicated test environment for daily automation test runs Leveraged healthcare knowledge and prior experience to better leverage the automation tool The Company evaluated 3 web test automation tools, namely Selenium, Sahi Pro and QTP. These tools were evaluated using more than 10 parameters, namely ‘’Web access and multi-browser support’’, ‘’Ease of use,installation and operation, ’’ and ‘’support,’’ among others. A weightage was assigned to all the parameters. Based on this analysis, Sahi Pro was recommended as the test automation tool of choice. The Company automated 60% of the overall manual test cases that were being used for testing the various products of their customer in the healthcare sector. These products were part of an integrated digital consumer engagement and activation platform, the most comprehensive patient influence platform in the healthcare industry. Page 1 of 2 Firstly, the Company recommended a QA Automation framework to be used in the project. Herein, all the Manual test cases in test management tool which were updated and were in “ready to execute” state were considered for automation. Thereafter, a dedicated application environment was implemented for automation test script development and testing. Sahi Pro was used for functional test automation of all the products of the customer. Lastly, daily test execution summary report was generated and test results were updated automatically in defect tracking tool. Benefits By implementing Sahi Pro Web Test Automation software, the Company achieved savings of 96% in the testing effort of the web applications of their customer, built using Angular JS, Express JS and Node JS. Time required for manual testing was 248 hours whereas time required in automated execution and analysis of the results was 8 hours. Sahi Pro allows automatic waits, which reduced the number of false positives/ negatives, ensuring very little time being wasted in analyzing the results. Also, the reporting feature of Sahi Pro allowed teams to monitor execution times and success rates as the products evolved. The products of this healthcare customer had several features, with enhancements being done on a daily basis. To maintain the product quality, test cases needed to be run on a daily basis. Also, thousands of verifications needed to be performed during Quality Assurance. For these large applications, Sahi Pro was an ideal tool for automated regression testing. Whenever required, cross browser testing could be done without any extra efforts. Certain new releases of the products were incremental in nature, wherein some functionalities released to the market were only modified at a User Interface (UI) level. Sahi Pro provides Smart accessor mechanisms, which ensure that the scripts do not fail during changes when only the application UI has been modified.
