April 19 ~ Third Sunday of Easter (Lk 24:35-48)
A Family Perspective by Bud Ozar
The apostles were afraid of Jesus until he ate with them and
they touched him. In your family the ordinary acts of eating
together, touching, embracing not only confirm your love for
each other, but also celebrate God’s presence in your family.
These “ordinary’ moments contain the extraordinary.

The Gospel of Mark
at St. Francis de Sales McCabe Center 755-1953
Jesus of Nazareth, A Gospel Portrait
Thursday, April 23 from 7-9 PM
Presented by Fr. Bernie Campbell, CSP
During these talks, Fr. Bernie will focus first on Jesus and his
times with a particular emphasis on the Jewishness of Jesus,
biblical themes and texts (Hebrew Bible) that the disciples of
Jesus used to help them understand Jesus, and the Kingdom of
God as Jesus’ central proclamation. Fr. Bernie will focus on
Jesus in his words and deeds and on the last tumultuous week
of Jesus’ life. Suggested donation of $10.
Thursday, May 14 from 7-9 PM
Presented by Fr. Bernie Campbell, CSP
Mark is the first and shortest of the four Gospels that we
have in written form. Biblical scholars used to frown a bit
upon Mark in comparison to the lofty John, the literate
Luke and the highly organized Matthew. The almost
dismissive view spoke of Mark “as a long Passion
Narrative with a short introduction”. That view no longer
holds among NT scholars, as Mark is now seen as
something of a path setter …. creating the Gospel written
form … and someone with a unique perspective on Jesus,
his disciples and the mission. Suggested donation of $10.
