SANFORD LEGION LADIES AUXILIARY AWARD
Terms and Conditions of the Award (2015)
1.
The purpose of this award is to provide financial
assistance up to $300.00 to a student leaving Sanford
Collegiate to attend any Canadian educational
institution to further his/her education.
2.
Students are to apply for the award in their own
handwriting stating their interests, school grades,
ambitions, extra-curricular activities, community
involvement and financial need.
3.
Students must be leaving Sanford Collegiate to further
their education, in a recognized post secondary
program.
4.
The award will be given to the student who is most
deserving, not necessarily based on academic standing
only. An offspring of a Veteran (eg. Child, grandchild,
great-grandchild) will be given preference.
5.
Letters of Reference are required from two citizens who
are not relatives of the applicant, nor members of the
teaching staff at Sanford Collegiate. It is the
responsibility of the student to obtain reference forms
and give to each of the persons whom they have selected
as references.
6.
If the winner does not begin to further his/her
education in the year in which the award is granted,
the full amount of the award must be returned to the
Legion.
7.
Please submit the completed application form and a
transcript of high school marks to Sanford Legion
Ladies Auxiliary Award, Box 105, Sanford MB R0G 2J0 in
a sealed envelope indicating the award title and your
name.
8.
The deadline for the receipt of the application and
letters of reference is June 5.
