WALK-A-THON SEASON HAS STARTED!
Santa Teresa’s Annual Walk-A-Thon
is Friday, May 1, 2015!
The yearly Walk-a-Thon (WAT) is one of our primary fundraisers at Santa Teresa Elementary (STE) and all families are
encouraged to participate and have some fun. On the day of the WAT, our enthusiastic STE students will have fun
outside as they walk for two hours, listening to fun music while earning prizes and treats along the way! But the
main reason for the WAT is to COLLECT DONATIONS!!!
Donations may be collected BEFORE and AFTER the day of the WAT. See the reverse of this letter for the available
ways to donate. Even if donations raised are not tied to the number of laps we walk, the entire school walks for a fun
Community Day to show commitment to working hard for the money we raise.
If each student raises at least $30 we will achieve our goal of $20,000! This will allow us to continue to support the
programs we currently have in place. The STHSA can make $30 per student go a long way to enrich your child’s
education!
STHSA is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit organization. ALL donations are TAX DEDUCTIBLE!
What Do We Do With the Funds?
The funds raised go directly to support and enhance your child’s education with supplies and academic enrichment!
This includes field trips such as Mission San Juan Bautista, Hidden Villa, Planetarium O’Neill Sea Odyssey, and
enrichment programs such as Assemblies, GATE, and Science Camp to name just a few.

What Are All The Ways To Donate?
Please either donate or help your child ask for donations. If each student raises at least $55 we will achieve our goal of $35,000!
All money goes directly into the PFA general fund. You can use the pledge envelope to collect cash or checks, or you can donate
with credit card or debit card using our PayPal site.
1. BANNER Sponsorships
Show your support with your name in print on our BIGGER AND BOLDER WALK-A-THON BANNER that is displayed on the front
of the school year-round! Submitting a Banner Sponsorship is easy!! Fill out the Sponsorship form included with this packet and
return with your payment OR pay online using online donation instructions below and note that it is for the banner. You can
also ask friends, family, or local businesses if they want to advertise their business on our Banner!
The deadline for donating this way is April 15, which is several weeks before the WAT. This is because of the lead time needed
to print the Banner in time for the WAT.
2. Online Donations
You can now donate to STHSA with Paypal! We hope that it will help make it easier for friends and family to make a donation
to support your student at Santa Teresa. Go to to http://santateresaschool.org/ and choose Support Our School under the Get
Involved tab at the top. There you will find a button to click for our WAT PayPal donations.
Make sure to include child’s name and teacher to get donation credit.
3. Cash or Check Donations
We still gratefully accept old-fashioned cash and checks! The Pledge Envelopes for collecting cash and checks are distributed
along with a “Rules and Prizes” sheet on April 14. Pledge Envelopes are due on April 28 - May 1. Make sure your envelope is
labeled with Student and Teacher name.
4. Corporate Matching
If your company offers this, it is a great way to double the money you donate! Please ask your employer if they offer matching
donations.
A Note About the Incentive Prizes
ALL DONATIONS COUNT TOWARD YOUR CHILD’S NUMBER OF ENTRIES IN THE PRIZE RAFFLE - NO MATTER HOW THE
DONATION IS SUBMITTED. The final date for donations to count toward incentive prize levels is Friday, May 8 at 3 pm.
If you want a donation to count - make sure any paperwork turned in or donations made online clearly state the child’s name
and teacher name. If you have out-of-town family members that you know will be making online donations, please let them
know to indicate which child should be given credit.

Santa Teresa Elementary School is preparing for one of the biggest fund raisers of the school year on
FRIDAY, MAY 1, 2015 — our annual PANTHER PRIDE WALK-A-THON! Our goal is to raise $20,000+
this year to fund school activities ranging from buying paper, pencils, and glue sticks to hosting on
the 6th grade commencement. We can reach this goal if each student brings in just $30!
Once again this year, the Santa Teresa Home and School Association plans to give a PANTHER PRIDE
t-shirt to each student, teacher and staff member. Please consider being a sponsor and get your
name or business name on a BANNER to be displayed on the front of the school during school year
until next Walk-A-Thon! THIS YEAR’S BANNER WILL BE BIGGER, BRIGHTER AND BOLDER
THAN LAST YEAR’S! This is an excellent advertising opportunity with great visibility.

no later than April 16, 2015. Please remember to include your student’s name and teacher’s name on
