JUST SURFACED NEW BUT UNTESTED Bite-Back 2015 Calendar 3333 Thirteen of the world’s finest underwater photographers have been united in support of conservation group Bite-Back and its goal to make Britain the first country in the world to ban shark fin soup. Each photographer has donated a favourite image that features in this limited-edition 2015 fundraising calendar. Among the photographs is a shot of a blue shark that won Alex Mustard the Coast & Marine category title at the 2014 British Wildlife Photographer of the Year. Others include sharks, whales, crocodile, sting and manta rays, sea-lions and jellyfish. The calendar is available for a penny under £9 plus p&p. 8 www.bite-back.com The latest kit to hit the dive shops Santi Ladies First Drysuit 3333 Atomic Aquatics Frameless 2 Mask 5555 Exposure Marine SUB M3 Mk2 ‘TAP’ Torch 5555 Atomic’s latest evolution of its Frameless Mask combines two grades of silicone moulded together to create what is claimed to be “the most comfortable mask in the water“. Along with the features said to have made the original Frameless Mask popular, the Frameless 2 has a sealing flange that’s co-moulded with a softer grade of silicone for a soft touch. It comes in Standard, Medium and Large fit sizes in either all-clear or all-black colours, and has an optical-quality UltraClear lens. Expect to pay £80. 8 www.atomicaquatics.com This unit is a smaller and brighter (1800 lumens) evolution of the motioncontrolled M3. The addition of three power modes provides more versatility, says Exposure Marine. The Mk2 boasts burntimes of 2hr (high), 10hr (medium) and 24hr (low). The core change is the addition of a capacitive switch for use at the surface and an automatic change to motion-switching when submerged. The motion ‘TAP’ switching calls for the user to operate the light through a tap sequence rather than by pushing a switch. An OLED screen has also been added offering a clear visual indication of the remaining runtime. Expected price is around £350. 8 www.use1.com The Ladies First is a suit built by Santi Diving of Poland, which says that the cut is designed “considering the silhouette differences and elegant details that enhance the feminine look”. This drysuit is built from what is said to be a durable but lightweight Ripstop nylon fabric in a choice of pink, lime or grey accents. It features a diagonal front TiZip Masterseal zipper, telescoping torso, Kevlar kneepads and two large cargo pockets. Wrist- and neck-seals are of latex with a warm neck collar. This drysuit costs £1500, or you can opt for a madeto-measure version for £1699. 8 www.santidiving.com Zeagle Express Tech BC 6666 The latest travel wing from USA-based Zeagle weighs in at just 2.35kg and features a horseshoe-shaped bladder. The Express Tech costs a little under £331. 8 www.zeagle.com Mares Fusion 52X Regulator 5555 Dive-Logs Logbook Binder & Inserts 4444 UK based Dive-Logs has introduced a range of logbook components enabling users to design their own customised system.
