Substitute following text for existing text 3.1.7 2. “Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV)” means a vehicle of category M, N or T having specific technical features in order to perform a function which requires special arrangements and / or equipment. Page No. 4/14, clause number 3.1.7.1 Substitute following text for existing text 3.1.7.1 “Motor Caravan” means a special purpose M category vehicle constructed to include living accommodation which contains at least the following equipment: i) Seats and table, ii) Sleeping accommodation which may be converted from the seats, iii) Cooking facilities, and iv) Storage facilities. This equipment shall be rigidly fixed to the living compartment; however, the table may be designed to be easily removable 3. Page No. 5/14, Clause number 3.1.7.3 Substitute following text for existing text 3.1.7.3 “Road Ambulance” Road Ambulance or Ambulance is a specially equipped and ergonomically designed vehicle for transportation / emergent treatment of sick or injured people and capable of providing out of hospital medical care during transit / when stationary, commensurate with its designated level of care when appropriately staffed. (Justification: Amendment is proposed to bring in uniformity in definitions of Special Purpose Vehicles in AIS/IS and CMVR. Definitions available in standards such AIS-125 for Road Ambulances, AIS-119 for Sleeper Coaches, AIS-063 for School Buses and in AIS-124 for Motor Caravans are more comprehensive.
