PRIMAVERAPRO 2015 NEW VENUE FOR DAYPRO CONFERENCE HOW TO FACE THE DIGITAL CROSSROADS CONFRONTING BANDS AND LABELS? IN WHAT DIRECTION IS LIVE MUSIC GOING? WHAT ROLE DO AUDIENCES PLAY NOWADAYS? AND WHAT IS THE ROLE OF THE MEDIA? These are some of the subjects that will be dealt with at PrimaveraPro 2015; Primavera Sound’s meeting for professionals that will celebrate its sixth edition from 27th to 31st May. An edition that comes with a necessary change of headquarters: this year the daytime activities will move to the MACBA (Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art), an expansion resulting from the enormous growth that the festival has undergone –in 2014 there were over 2600 accredited professionals– and that will strengthen its links with the historical centre of the city, by moving to an emblematic and culturally referential site. STATISTICS The 2014 edition of the meeting for professionals Primavera Sound recorded a growth of 31% over the previous year and exceeded the 2,600 accredited professionals, 51% of which were international, with strong presence of countries like Brazil, Japan, South Africa or New Zealand. In 2014 a total of 152 activities, involving over 85 speakers were scheduled. PROFESSIONALS ACCREDITED AT PRIMAVERAPRO 2014 BY TYPE OF COMPANY PROFESSIONALS ACCREDITED AT PRIMAVERAPRO 2014 BY COUNTRY INTERNATIONAL CONGRESSES FOR THE FIRST TIME The major novelty of PrimaveraPro 2015 will be that the meeting this year will host the first edition of two international congresses that will become references for the music industry: CONCERT VENUES INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS 2015 A meeting of the main international concert venues organised with the ASACC (the association of Catalan concert venues) and with the collaboration of Live DMA (the European network of venues) and ACCES (spanish association of venues) who will debate crucial aspects such as the role of culture in cities. INDEPENDENT LABELS INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS 2015 In collaboration with the UFI (the Spanish association of independent record labels) and IMPALA (the European association of independent labels), it will bring together the main record labels from around the world to try to find common solutions to the challenges that arise from digital transformation. Both congresses will take place on 27th and 28th May, parallel to the usual activities of PrimaveraPro, and will tackle key themes such as new models of concert venue management and the evolution and challenge of digital music platforms for labels. PROGRAMME 2015 As always the PrimaveraPro 2015 activities will be shared between the DayPro Conference –in the MACBA–, and the NightPro –that will continue to be on the festival site in the Parc del Fòrum itself next to the sea–.
