Message from Dr. Heiser
Dear Parents & Seniors,
As we approach the final two months of school for seniors, I wanted to take a moment
to provide you with the important dates and information about prom, final exams, and
graduation. Thank you for carefully reading the information below so that you are well
informed about the events ahead. It is my sincere hope that the Class of 2015 has a
memorable experience. Lastly, thank you for your commitment to our wonderful
school. Catonsville High School is an excellent school because of our great students,
faculty, and community.

Senior dues are $80 for
the four years at CHS.

Senior Prom Tickets are
≈$40/person.

Seniors are encouraged
to notify employers well in
advance.

Graduation tickets will
be distributed at the 2nd
rehearsal on May 28th for
students in good financial
standing. More info is
enclosed.
Graduation Ceremony Info
The Class of 2015 would
like to remind everyone
that graduation on May
29th is a formal ceremony
and must be treated with
the highest level of dignity.
The ceremony dictates
that graduates and guests
wear appropriate attire.
Graduating males are
required to wear a shirt
and tie, dark dress pants,
socks and dress shoes.
Graduating females are
required to wear dresses
and shoes with low heels.
No graduating seniors are
permitted to wear flip
flops. Caps and gowns
may not be adorned in
any fashion; the exception
being cords noting
membership in various
organizations.
Doors to the RAC Arena
will not open until 6:00
p.m. Entry doors will
close once the procession
begins and will reopen
only after the national
anthem is complete.
Doors will remain open
until 8:00 p.m. No one will
be allowed entry after 8:00
p.m., regardless of ticket.
UMBC has a no re-entry
policy; once you leave the
RAC Arena you may not
re-enter. UMBC does not
allow strollers, balloons or
food and drink to be
brought into the RAC
Arena.
All guests must be seated
before the event begins.
Standing along the upper
railing is not permitted
during the event due to
fire code regulations. Due
to the serious nature and
length of the ceremony,
commencement exercises
are not easy for young
children to sit through.
Please do everything you
can to avoid bringing
small children to this
event. All entrants require
a ticket to be admitted.
Also, the Handicapped
Seating area is extremely
limited, therefore UMBC
requires that we distribute
a distinctive ticket to these
individuals and, if needed,
one accompanying guest.
UMBC requires that we
provide a list of all special
needs guests. Please
complete the Request for
Handicapped Seating
form enclosed in this
letter.

at 5:45 p.m. and be dressed in cap & gown for
the ceremony. All seniors and parents are
encouraged to join us.
Senior Picnic Information
All graduating seniors are
invited to the senior picnic
that will be held on May
22, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. 1:00 p.m. (directly after
Graduation Rehearsal).
This is a time for students
to gather in a casual and
relaxing setting, perhaps
for the last time.
At the conclusion of the
graduation rehearsal
students will move to the
field next to the tennis
courts for a catered picnic
with food and drinks. This
is a great opportunity to
sign yearbooks, visit with
teachers and to say goodbye. We know that it will
be a very special and
memorable event. The
picnic will end at 1:00
p.m., at which time all
seniors will leave the
Catonsville High School
campus.
We welcome students to
visit with us after school
hours in the future, but for
this special day, students
will be dismissed at 1:00
p.m. and will not be
permitted in our school
building or campus for the
remainder of the day.
We are confident that
students will conduct
themselves appropriately,
thereby enhancing the
enjoyment of all involved.

Graduation Tickets
General Information

Each student will receive 5 tickets at no cost. These tickets will be distributed at the May 28th
graduation rehearsal. No tickets will be distributed before May 28th. All tickets are open seating.
There will be no extra tickets for sale through CHS or UMBC.

Please note that all obligations must be cleared before a student receives graduation tickets.

Remember that no one will be admitted to the graduation without a ticket. Infants and children
are required to have a ticket for entry.

If there is a member of your family who needs handicapped seating, please complete the
information below and submit it to Ms. Stephens. Note the location of handicapped seating on
the attached map. Handicapped seating is up on the track level.

If there is a member of your family who is hearing impaired and you would like an interpreter,
please contact Ms. Hickman at [email protected] or 410-887-0808.

Catonsville High School Graduation Ticket Lottery
Request Form
In addition to the five graduation tickets which every senior participating in graduation will receive, a
request can be made to have your name placed in a lottery for additional tickets that may become
available. Graduating seniors can request up to 3 additional tickets. If available, these tickets will be
distributed to the graduate at the graduation rehearsal on the morning of May 28, 2015. The
CHS Graduation Committee will have two Graduation Ticket Lotteries. Lottery #1 will be held on
Monday, May 18th. Lottery #2 will be held on Tuesday, May 26th. Parents will be notified after each
lottery via email or phone if they are to receive any additional tickets.
Complete the following information and return to Ms. Stephens in Room 241 or put the form in her
mailbox in the main office by May 15, 2015, in order to be placed in the lottery.

Dear Parents,

career!
We need help with the Senior Picnic (5/22) in the following ways:
 Provide pop-up canopies for shade
 Pick-up and/or set-up food and beverages
 Clean-up and break down of picnic
