Course Description:
This program will include short case presentations illustrating
the use of novel echocardiographic techniques followed by concise,
clinically relevant discussion. The faculty consists of experts in
echocardiography, with a focus on 3-D echocardiography,strain imaging,
and contrast echocardiography.
Target Audience:
This course is designed for cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, internists,
sonographers, pathologists, cardiovascular fellows, nurses, and physician’s
assistants with roles in the diagnosis, assessment, understanding, and
management of oncology patients, patients with cardiomyopathy including amyloid
and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, patients undergoing echocardiographic guided
procedures in the catheterization laboratory, and patients in whom contrast
echocardiography will improve quality and value.

OBJECTIVES:
• Review the importance of comprehensive echocardiographic evaluation, including 3-D,
contrast, Doppler, and Strain
• Examine the benefits of echocardiography improving quality and value in a busy
echocardiographic practice
• Demonstrate the role of 3-D echocardiography in guiding interventional procedures
• Review the role of strain imaging in cardio-oncology and in the assessment of
cardiomyopathies as well as in the evaluation of right ventricular function
