- Chatsworth State School

Week 5 Term 2 – 21 May 2015
STAFF CHANGES
Unfortunately, Julie Wright (Year 2/3W’s teacher) has taken 3 weeks leave for family reasons.
We are very fortunate to have Mrs Henna, a lovely new teacher to our area who will teach
the 2/3s for 2 weeks, following by Mrs Martin before Mrs Wright returns, hopefully on the
15th of June.
Also, Mr Mottershead (2MM) will be on long service leave for Term 3 with Mr Rann here for
this time.
NRL DEVELOPMENT DAY
Yesterday I had the pleasure of watching our students play in the NRL Development Cup at
Albert Park. The players had a great day and their coach Mr Bakhash was very proud of their
efforts. We were a much smaller side than many of the other schools, who have multiple
classes of Year 6s to choose from, but the team were great sports and tried their best.
Congratulations to Dylan (Year 6) who was named Best and Fairest for Chatsworth.
It was also great to see some girls from our school getting involved with the boys. Kayla
(Year 6) was even our top try scorer with 3 tries for the day!

TUCKSHOP NEWS
Hello everybody,
To start with I would like to thank Julie, Donna, Zoe,
Keesha and Debbie and thank you to the people who
helped out with the limbo at the disco. I'm sorry to
say there was a little girl who grazed her face at the
disco because of the lights going on & of, I really hope
she is alright. Apart from that, the kids behaved really
well. We ended up raising $524, thank you.
Walk Safely to School Day — 22 May
This Friday students are encouraged to take part in
Walk Safely to School Day. Walking or taking public
transport to school promotes a healthy lifestyle and
responsible behavior around our streets, while also
reducing traffic around our school. It would be great
to see parents joining in as well.
