Student Research Journal Editorial Team 2015 Adrienne Mathewson, EditorinChief A native Californian and a descendant of the original Hispanic founding families of New Mexico, Adrienne Mathewson splits her time between Albuquerque, New Mexico and San Diego, California. She is in her second year of the MLIS program at SJSU and has worked as a freelance writer, editor and graphic artist for several years. She plans to use her MLIS degree to further her research skills as an Independent Information Professional. Janet Casey, Managing Editor Janet has a BA in Linguistics from Seattle Pacific University. Currently residing in Sacramento, CA, she works as a freelance indexer and bibliographer. She is in her third and final year in the MLIS program and later plans to pursue her JD to become a law librarian. Her research and professional interests include intellectual freedom and digital copyright, scholarly communication and knowledge flow, and bibliometrics. Melissa Anderson, Content Editor Melissa has a PhD in Comparative Literature from the University of Chicago and a background in education, writing, and nonprofit administration. She is currently working for the SJSU School of Information writing news articles for the school website. Melissa’s professional interests include information literacy instruction, children and technology, and digital preservation, and she plans to graduate in Spring 2016. ISSN: 2160 7753 Lawrence Mak, Content Editor Lawrence has a BA in History from California State University, Los Angeles. He plans to graduate in Spring 2015 and would enjoy working in an academic or government environment. His professional interests include webbased information systems, big data analytics, and database theory and management. Rebecca Padrick, Content Editor Rebecca holds a BA in English from Metropolitan State University of Denver. She works at a public library in Denver, Colorado, where she lives with her husband in a house full of dogs and books. Rebecca is passionate about information literacy and serving diverse populations. Camille Peters, Content Editor Camille Cecelia Peters is a thirdyear student in the iSchool. Her focus is on information organization and academic libraries. Peters received a Bachelor’s degree in Music History from the Ohio State University and earned a Master’s in Historical Musicology from the University of Pittsburgh. Originally from Toledo, Ohio, she now resides in Oakland with her spouse. Josh Smith, Content Editor My name is Josh Smith, and I began the SJSU School of Information program in Spring 2011. I have a B.A. in Journalism from Chico State and a B.A. in History from Cal State San Bernardino. I have focused on archives within my SJSU studies, and hope to integrate that knowledge into the seasonal work I have been doing for the National Park Service. I am looking forward to gaining more valuable knowledge and experience as a member of the 2015 SRJ Editorial Team! ISSN: 2160 7753 Alicia Zuniga, Content Editor Alicia earned her BS in Cognitive Science from UC San Diego. She is in her third and last year of the MLIS program. She currently resides in the Bay Area where she works as a Publications Assistant for Public Library of Science (PLOS), and openaccess science research journal. She is interested in online publishing and science communication. Kristin Clark, Copy Editor Kristin holds a BA in English with a minor in Technical Writing from Sam Houston State University in Texas. She worked with state document serials at the State Library of North Carolina, and after her husband joined the Air Force, moved to Oklahoma and now works as a Library Aide at Western Oklahoma State College. Kristin is interested in digital services and preservation, ensuring that important documents survive and are made available for future generations. Laurel Diskin, Copy Editor A native of Los Angeles, Laurel holds degrees in Music, Spanish and Education from CSULA. Among other things, Laurel works as a performance librarian. She spent a year with the L.A. Opera and is currently the Rental Library Coordinator at Alfred Music Publishing. She is very excited to be a part of the SRJ's editorial team. ISSN: 2160 7753
