ANGELS AMONG US
April Virtue – Leadership
What Is Leadership?
Leadership is setting good examples and modelling positive
behaviour
Leadership is listening and working cooperatively with
others
Leadership is doing your best and making a difference
Leadership is having a positive attitude and encouraging
others to do their best
Guardian Angels Catholic School has two teams competing in
the competition this year. The Junior Team will be competing on
April 13, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. and the seniors will compete on
April 20, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. Good luck Teams!
GRADE 6 BOYS HOBBY CLUB
How Can I Be a Leader?
You can choose to practice leadership by following rules and
modeling positive behaviour. You are a leader when you make
good choices and you help others to do their best. Younger
children learn from watching older students. You are being a
leader when you listen to others and encourage them to make
good choices. By following rules and choosing to do the right
thing, you are being an active leader.
All Grade 6 Boys are invited to attend a drop-in Boys’ Hobby
Club, being run at lunch recess in the gym and in the computer
lab. This program takes place once a week for four weeks, on
Friday, March 27, Thursday, April 2, Friday, April 10 and
Friday April 17. Boys will take part in team building activities
supporting positive relationships. This program is led by CYC,
Mrs. Montague with the support of the classroom teachers and
Family Services Worker, Igor Turkowski.
APRIL IS ABORIGINAL AWARENESS MONTH
GRADE 6 BOYS’ DAY OUT: LEADERS IN ACTION

Family of School’s Boys’ Day Out on Thursday April 30, 2015.
Students will develop leadership skills through activities which
build confidence, encourage positive peer relationships and
healthy coping strategies. More information will be sent home to
the grade 6 boys.
Also, we recently welcomed Metis author, musician, and
storyteller David Bouchard, who put on a beautiful presentation
for our students: incorporating music and stories. He challenged
our students to find that “one book” that would change their
lives!
