Principal’s Corner
Dear Bayshore Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break and
had some time to relax.
All of our 3rd and 4th grade students have finished
the Florida Standards Assessment (FSA). Thank you all
for encouraging your child/children to do their best.
We know our students were well prepared and gave it
their all!
Our 5th grade students will continue their FSA in
reading, math, and science through the month of April.
Please see the testing calendar that was sent home last
month. If you need another copy, please ask your
child’s teacher. We know our 5th graders will do an
outstanding job.
I want to thank everyone who came out to our 4th
annual Community Night. Our families were able to
visit with local businesses and community
establishments and receive valuable information.
We are now into the 4th quarter, and we still have so
much to learn. We want our children to continue to
work hard to prepare for the next grade. We are so
proud of all the hard work our students continue to do.
As always, we thank you for your continued support
of your child’s education at Bayshore Elementary. We
truly appreciate it!

Media Center News
Author David Mark Lopez Visits Bayshore
Second grade students had the opportunity to meet
author David Mark Lopez in March. Mr. Lopez has
written historical fiction based on the adventures of
Maddie and her magic markers. Students learned
about being an author, the writing process, and
how they, too, can become a writer.
Attendance
Please make sure that your child is here on time each
day and remains the entire school day unless he/she
is sick. Regular school attendance is imperative to the
successful education of your child. If your child is sick,
please send in a dated note within three days of their
return stating the reason they were out and the dates
that they missed. The St. Lucie County Tardy and Early Pick up Policy states that every 5th unexcused tardy
will be
counted, for determination of school truancy, as an unexcused absence. If we can be of help to
you, please do not hesitate to call upon us.
School Advisory Council (SAC)
During the March SAC meeting, Mrs. Reid shared the
midyear reflection for Bayshore's School Improvement
Plan. Although we have yet to make your annual goal,
desired progress is being made. Bayshore is proud of
the proficiency gains made in both reading and
math. Please join us for our next SAC meeting on April
15th at 4:00 in the Media Center. We look forward to
seeing you there!

Mrs. Maryann Umile!
