Run with the pack as we explore the
canines and felines, both wild and
domestic. Tails will be wagging as we
sniff through the facts about coyotes,
foxes, wolves and dogs using literature,
games, art and crafts. Bite into the
similarities and differences between lions,
tigers, cheetahs and house cats.
Study the elements of the
periodic table and learn
about chemical and physical

helium and hydrogen? How do certain
elements combine to make everyday
products? Explore elements at the nano

So much excitement packed into one fun-filled day!
Meet some of SciWorks’ animals and
learn how to care for critters. What
animals wag their tails, and why do they
have whiskers? What other puppy parts
and kitten characteristics make these
animals so special? We will make puppy
puppets, play animal games and have a
puppet parade!
Young children have natural curiosities
about their bodies. After all, our organs
and systems are pretty remarkable. We’ll
learn about our bodies inside and out;
from the tops of our heads to the tips of
our toes. We’ll focus on how to
be safe and healthy and have
fun while doing it.
Learn about measuring, food
safety, nutrition and some of the
chemical reactions that occur when
we make and bake our favorite foods.
No need to bring a snack; campers will
make their own. (Food allergies will be
taken into consideration.)
We live on planet earth, and we can see
far into space. Why is earth such a good
place for us and, if we left earth, where
would we go? Explore space from the
safety of a SciWorks rocket. Make your
own rocket and invent your own space
gear. Your imagination knows no limits!
What could be more fun
on a hot summer day than
water play?! Campers
will get their hands wet when we have
a water balloon relay, paint with water
colors and make a water cycle bracelet.
Learn about conserving water as we use
our imaginations and play a game of
pretend as a raindrop.
Member $45, Non-member $50
Create and observe a whole lot of changes
going on. Make acid-base testers and
models of atoms, and watch colors change.
Is the change physical, chemical or both?
Watch a balloon explode and a giant
test tube run over with bubbles, and
PDNH\RXURZQÀ]]\IRDP\FKHPLFDO
concoctions.
Explore Pluto and other dwarf planets,
stars, moons, asteroids and galaxies.
We’ll ponder the possibility of life
beyond earth, build rockets, and use
our imaginations to create and debate
other space explorations.

this plan. What exactly makes a
snack healthy, and does it have to be
yucky to be healthy? Learn the difference
between measuring solids and liquids,
and discover how to take ordinary
ingredients and make scrumptious snacks
for everyone.
What do we know about our most
valuable natural resource? How do we
use water as a source of energy? Drive a
hydrogen fuel cell, remote-controlled car;
develop your acting skills as we debate
the use of Aquadales water supply; and
learn about aquatic animals. Plus, enjoy
a water balloon relay and other wet and
wild games and activities!
Member $45, Non-member $50
Watt’s it all about? Build your
own circuits, see an electric pickle
and make your own battery. Your
hair will stand on end when you feel
the charge of the Van de Graaff
generator! We will experiment with
alternative energy, and play games that
will excite and electrify!

using stop-action animation techniques.
Props and craft supplies are available for
you to create your own story. We’ll even
team up to see who can make the funniest
stop-motion animated project.
Campers will work side by side with
our animal care staff learning how to
care for our animal ambassadors. You’ll
learn feeding, handling and grooming
techniques, and have the opportunity
create your own habitat.
Who knew science was edible? Come
ready to earn your chef hat and eat the
snacks you make. Join us as we explore

will go behind-the-scenes and learn about
exhibit development and planetarium
productions as you sample and experiment
with a variety of science topics.

predator insects. How fast can a cheetah
run to catch its prey? How does an owl
catch a tiny mouse at night? Which animals
lure their prey in? What other tactics do
predators use to survive? With role playing
games, crafts and activities we will explore
these sometimes frightful but always
awesome animals.
