WHY SHOULD YOU ATTEND THIS SEMINAR? We hope to see you this year at SC Appleseed’s Elder Law Seminar. We have selected a great group of speakers on a variety of topics! Kicking things off will be Kenny Dojaquez, discussing VA disability issues, a common problem in elderly clients. Then we hear from Jennifer Rainville, who will share with us some of the hot topics that came up during her time at the probate court, especially those that are important to her elderly clients now. Barbara Brunson will give us some ideas of how to really make sure both you and your elderly client have a complete picture of their situation before deciding what help they need. After lunch we will get a primer on Guardian and Conservatorship issues from Sarah St. Onge, Chair of the SC Bar’s Elder law committee. Then Patricia Harrison will catch us up on the most recent news from the Medicaid front, including issues specific to those with disabilities. Finally, wrapping things up for us will be Franchelle Millender to fill us in on ethics issues commonly faced by lawyers representing elderly clients. We hope you can join us! If you have questions or would like further information, please contact Pat Saad of the SC Appleseed Legal Justice Center at 803-779-1113 ext. 100. *Please note that private attorneys attending the CLE (that are not speakers) will be required to accept a pro bono case for Lawyers 4 Vets or from the SC Bar Pro Bono Program, within the next twelve months. Any attorney who is contacted to accept a case and fails to fulfill this obligation will be charged by SC Appleseed for the full price of this CLE.
