This evening program is included in the one-day Geriatric Medicine Update
price. There is a $25 fee to attend only the evening program.
COURSE GOAL: To improve clinical competencies in primary
care providers to improve the management of older patients.
GERIATRIC MEDICINE COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course is designed to address the unmet educational
needs of primary care physicians who have a diverse case mix
that includes older adults. Local and invited physician faculty
have national recognition for their expertise in chronic disease
management.
This is a fast-paced course with presentations lasting 60
minutes each. Use of an audience response system allows
immediate feedback regarding CME test questions. Each
session will include time for questions and answers. The
course combines best practice strategies and education
through case studies and lectures. A full syllabus of
educational materials will be provided as a resource for today’s
primary care practice office.
COURSE OBJECTIVES: Upon completion of the seminar,
participants should be able to improve physician competence
and performance by being able to:
• Proactively recognize age-specific management techniques
in complex older patients and
• Use best-practice clinical approaches in their care.
