MEET CONDITIONS
Please particularly note the following changes: 9 year olds CAN now enter 100m events, this is an end of season
gala for non-national qualifiers, cut-off times reflect that 9, 10 and 11 year olds cannot enter nationals. Please also
note the new address for correspondence.
1. The competition will be held under ASA Laws and ASA Technical Rules of Swimming.
2. Heats will be seeded and spear headed according to submitted entry times which must be converted to 25m
pool times if necessary.
3. Only entries faster than the Lower Consideration Times and up to the Upper Cut off Times will be accepted.
4. Disability entries are welcome. No entry times apply. Please choose events carefully and we will endeavour
to ensure these are accepted given the time restraints of the event. Please contact the promoter for any
further information and advice.
5. Age at 19th July 2015.
6. Awards will be given to the fastest three swimmers in each age group in each event, after taking account of
the “cut off times”. Awards will be made to disability swimmers who PB in the events they enter and where
more than one swimmer competes under the same disability classification they will be ranked accordingly.
7. Swimmers who swim faster than the upper cut off time will be presented with a Speeding Certificate.
8. There will be separate awards for Top Boy, Top Girl and Top Club. The top six swimmers in each event will be
awarded points (6pts for 1st, 5pts for 2nd, etc) and this will be used to decide the winners of these awards.
Top Club award at the discretion of Promoter. Note: Points are not awarded for swimmers with ‘speeding
tickets’.
9. Anti-wave ropes will be used in a six-lane, 25m pool.
10. Daktronics Electronic timing will be used.
11. The meet will be run without the use of entry cards. Confirmation of entries will be posted on the
Chesterfield SC website (www.chesterfieldsc.co.uk).
12. ENTRIES - £5.00 per event if sent electronically via entry manager, otherwise £6.00/event. Electronic entries
are to be emailed to [email protected]. Full details of how to enter electronically are provided
on the club website. Electronic entries are preferable, cheaper, result in fewer mistakes and successful
entries can be confirmed more quickly. Please e-mail [email protected] for guidance on how to
use if unsure. In the event of the meet being oversubscribed postal entries will be prioritised based on
posting date.
All entries must be received by Monday 8th June 2015 and are on a first come, first served basis. Total
entries are subject to the licence time constraints. Some events may have to be limited accordingly.
13. Post all entries to: Chesterfield Swimming Club, 87 High Street, Old Whittington, Chesterfield S41 9LA. Mark
your envelope ‘Summer Splash 2015’. Make cheques payable to: Chesterfield Swimming Club.

14. Please keep an eye on the website for the accepted entries list which will be published after the closing
date or when the meet is deemed to be full. Any errors must be notified by the date given on publication of
the accepted entries list. Any times achieved after the closing date will not be accepted. Please make
withdrawals prior to the start of the meet to [email protected] or to the desk at the front of
the balcony during the meet but before the start of warm-up for the relevant session to avoid unnecessary
delays in competition.
15. POOLSIDE PASSES - £12 per day or £20 per weekend inclusive of a programme and start sheets. Note: The
Coaches Pass includes a buffet lunch.
16. SPECTATOR ADMISSION – NO CHARGE FOR CHILDREN, Weekend rate - £10 Adult, £6 OAP, Day rate- £6
Adult, £4 OAP, Session rate - £4 Adult £3 OAP (morning only will pay day rate and be refunded when
wristband returned). ). Swimmers will not be allowed on the balcony with bare feet and if dripping wet.
Please encourage swimmers to remain on poolside during sessions so that designated team managers know
where they are.
17. OFFICIALS – We require confirmation from clubs that they will be able to provide at least 1 licensed official
for every 10 swimmers they enter prior to their entry being accepted. Please e-mail the Promoter with this
information. We are able to provide poolside experience for trainee officials as long as we have sufficient
officials to run the meet in accordance with licensing conditions. Please e-mail the Promoter with your
training requirements so that the Referees can be made aware.
18. TEAM MANAGERS - With reference to the most recent guidance from the NSPCC/CPSU safe sports events
and in conjunction with Wavepower issued by the ASA we require the following compliance. The adult to
swimmer ratio should be a minimum of 1:10 with two adults being the minimum for each team. This can
include coaches but clubs must ensure that swimmers are not left unsupervised. We do not have lifeguard
cover for the sun terrace or the area around the small pools. It is the responsibility of Team Managers to
ensure swimmers report for their races in good time and report any injury or incident to the pool staff and
Promoter.
19. Our very popular club Swim Shop will be open throughout the meet and will be open prior to the start of the
morning warm-up.
20. A café is available at the venue serving the usual range of hot and cold food and drink including pasta and
jacket potatoes.
21. Parking is available at the venue and is regularly monitored by parking officials, please park very carefully in
the spaces and ensure the correct fee is paid.
22. Neither the organisers nor the pool management will be able to accept responsibility for loss or damage to
personal property.
23. Any conditions not covered in the above information will be at the discretion of the Promoter. Please contact
the promoter with any queries at any time before, during or after the meet.
24. The Referee’s decision will be final on all matters relating to swimming and swimmer discipline.
