California Public Protection & Physician Health (CPPPH) is an
independent, non-profit California public benefit corporation established
in 2009 with the mission to develop a comprehensive statewide physician
health program so that California does not remain one of the few states
without such a resource.

It is a collaborative effort supported by the California Medical Association,
California’s medical and specialty societies, California Hospital
Association, and the four professional liability insurance carriers. It
provides consultation, coordination, education and network-building
among those entities in California responsible for physician health. It
promulgates guidelines for physician health service providers and
policies and procedures for physician health committees.

CPPPH is seeking an Executive Director who has experience with and
knowledge about the field of physician health in California. The field of
physician health is defined by the Federation of State Physician Health
Programs as the education, intervention, research, peer assistance,
monitoring and advocacy of physicians and/or other healthcare
professionals with potentially impairing illness in a hospital, office or
other clinical/non-clinical setting.
CPPPH is seeking an Executive Director who will
• provide leadership, vision, strategic thinking, and strategic execution
of the activities to carry out the mission of the organization
• work closely with the Board and committees to develop and execute a
strategic plan with the necessary income-producing activities
• lead, develop, and manage all aspects of a growing organization
•supervise administrative staff
• develop and maintain relationships with strategic partners including
healthcare, business, and community stakeholders, and governmental
groups
• seek external program funding through grant applications and
solicitations
• manage all aspects of CPPPH communication strategies including
website, e-News and other related strategies as needed

establish cooperative relationships with selected other organizations
manage relationships and agreements with contractors who provide services on
behalf of CPPPH

Experience reporting to and working with a Board of Directors
Experience within medical and health care delivery organizations and experience
working with and for physicians
