Mulligan Income Cost

Mulligan
Income
If you do not have any Junk cards in your hand at the
start of the game, you may show your hand to all
players, discard it and draw five new cards.
Some cards in your tower give
you an Income. Collect the
amount of coins indicated by
the Income value (see figure 1)
from the Bank and put them in
your Treasury.You may also sell
one of the Junk cards in your
hand. A Junk card is worth its
Strength in coins. You may only
sell one Junk card each turn.
Discard the card and collect
the coins from the Bank.
monkey moves symbol
If the card has a monkey move
symbol the monkey moves up or
down as many steps as indicted. If
both an up and down arrow are
present, you may choose in which
direction the monkey climbs.
Game phases
Money makes the world go around. Money is the root of evil. Money will take you to new
heights; at least that’s your plan. With a few coins in your pocket you may actually buy
your way up to the monkey, and even put a little style in your junk tower at the same time.
Just because you work in a junkyard doesn’t mean you don’t appreciate a little luxury
now and then.
Monkey Business is not a complete game but must be played with
Spank the Monkey. It introduces some new rules into the game
and new strategic possibilities.
Components
Monkey Business includes: 60 cards, 60 coins, 1 rule sheet
Setup
Shuffle the expansion cards into the Spank the Monkey Card pile. Select the top
30 cards from the Card pile and put them in a separate pile.
This is the Purchase pile.
Give every player 1 coin to put in their Treasury. The amount of coins in a player’s
Treasury is always public. Put the rest of the coins in a pile beside the Card pile.
This is the Bank.
Two new phases are added to a player’s turn, Income
and Upkeep, and there are some changes to the Draw
phase. All the other phases remain the same.
1Income: Collect Income for cards in your tower. You
may also sell one of the Junk cards in your hand.
2Upkeep: Pay Upkeep for cards in your tower or
discard them.
3Draw: If you have four cards or less in your hand,
draw two cards. If you have five cards or more, draw
one card only. When you have drawn cards, you may
buy additional cards from the Purchase pile.
4Build: Build your tower higher with one Junk card
and/or reinforce it with one Reinforcement card.
5Attack: Attack your opponents with Attack cards.
Your opponents may defend themselves with
Defense cards.
6Spank the monkey: If you are at the same height
as the monkey or higher, you may try to spank it.
7Discard: You may discard up to two cards from
your hand to the Discard pile without using them.

Upkeep
Some cards in your tower
require you to pay Upkeep to
the Bank as indicated by the
Upkeep value (see figure 2).
If you cannot or do not want
to pay the Upkeep for a card,
you must discard it.You do not
have to perform any Collision
roll. If you have several cards
with Upkeep, you decide in
which order you want to pay
them.

RED circle
First you draw one or two cards as explained in the
basic rules. Then you may buy cards from the Purchase
pile. You may buy as many cards as you can afford. The
first card you buy costs 1 coin. Every card after that
costs 1 coin more than the previous one. This means
that the second card costs 2 coins, the third card 3
coins, etc. To buy a total of three cards, you would
have to pay 6 coins (1+2+3). On your next turn, the
first card you buy costs 1 coin once again. If you run
out of cards in the Purchase pile, you cannot buy any
more cards.
