CALL FOR SPONSORSHIP TO INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
Internationalization and Inclusivity of Higher Education in South
East Asia: Perspectives, Practices and Pragmatics
South-East Asian countries share many commonalities, yet their political, cultural, socioeconomic and environmental conditions are also rich in diversity. Likewise, higher education
in the region stems from different historical backgrounds and has undergone various kinds of
challenges and various stages of development. The rapid expansion of student enrolment, the
knowledge explosion, advances in information and communication technology, globalization,
economic restructuring have all contributed to higher education reforms in these countries,
which taken under various levels and resulted in varied outcomes. The establishment of AEC
expected in 2015 will also be an important milestone in this process.
As the believe of many higher education policy makers, researchers and practitioners in the
region, higher education systems in South-East Asia can benefit from closer cooperation and
exchange of lessons learned. To promote the discussion among regional people and
institutions in higher education, the Foreign Trade University (Vietnam) will host the annual
conference of South-East Asia Association in Institutional Reseach (SEAAIR) with the theme
“Internationalization and Inclusivity of Higher Education in SEA: Perspectives,
Practices and Pragmatics” (SEAAIR2015). Over the last 12 years, it’s the first time that
SEAAIR’s annual conference is organised in Vietnam as the 5th countries officially join
SEAAIR.
SEAAIR2015 is a forum for higher education leaders, researchers and practioners to debate
on regional higher and further education issues and challenges, and to discuss collaborative
solutions. SEAAIR2015 also promote the integration of Vietnam’s universities into the
region and the world’s higher education system through SEAAIR.
The SEAAIR2015 will explore this through five sub-themes:
1. Managing of Internationalisation and Inclusivity of teaching and learning towards
students’ success;
2.
Achieving Internationalisation and Inclusivity through teaching technologies;
3. Improvement of institutional and academic quality through Internationalisation and
Inclusivity;
4.
Realizing Internationalisation and Inclusivity through Institutional Research;
5. Accomplishing Internationalisation and Inclusivity through effective institutional
management.
The 3-day conference will be held from 30th September to 2nd October, 2015 in Hanoi
(2days) and Ha Long city (1 day). Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam is a city with historical
places like Hoankiem lake, which is the symbol of the city, the One-pillar Pagoda, the
Temple of Literature, which is built hundreds of years ago. Ha Long Bay, in the Gulf of
Tonkin, includes some 1,600 islands and islets, providing a spectacular seascape of limestone
pillars and great biological interest.
The annual SEAAIR conferences attract leaders, senior academic staff from from university
