Proposed Themes James Bamber • 4 ideas Takeoff To Conclave Bonds of Brotherhood • Morning activities (trainings) will represent the briefing/education part of militaristic training. The games and activities in the afternoon will represent the combat/missions part of the military. Then, based on the number of morning activities and afternoon activities, each Arrowmen will receive a rank. These ranks, based upon actual ranks of the military, will be divided into different tiers. Each Arrowmen’s name will be placed into a raffle depending on the tier they are in, and the prize given will reflect how high a rank the Arrowmen achieved. Mike Gray mentioned Lodge Ball during his presentation, and it would go well with this topic. Many veterans talk about how the people they trained and fought with are like brothers to them, so, this ties into the OA because it would be emphasizing the Bonds of Brotherhood and working together to accomplish goals. To achieve this, many games would require to be scored as a team sport rather than an individual sport. Scavenger hunts and orienteering would go well with this as well. Takeoff To Conclave OA: The Final Frontier • This idea focuses on targeting the newer and younger Arrowmen as well as supplying opportunities to the older Arrowmen as well. It also, if people get the reference, will appeal to the adults. The thinking, if the adults come, youth will come. If you yourself did not understand the reference, it references Star Trek. The idea, like exploring space, is to explore the OA more in depth. Hopefully it will inspire Arrowmen and receive more participation. Thus, morning activities will have sessions geared towards beginning, intermediate, and advanced Arrowmen. Takeoff To Conclave Fellowship of the Arrow • Each Lodge will represent one of the five good races: Dwarf, Elf, Wizard, Human, and Hobbit. Each Lodge LEC would vote and submit a statement saying which race they would like. First come first serve. Trainings would focus on cooperation and, like the title suggests, fellowship. The afternoon activities, as seen in the host lodge presentation, would cooperate well with this topic. The big picture to take away is that we are all different, but when we come together in fellowship we are even stronger. Takeoff To Conclave Arrow’s Guild • Individuals, upon arriving, will receive one guild of x number of guilds. Groups would then camp together in those areas. If people have a buddy and want to camp with them, that’s okay. The idea is to promote working together and strengthening brotherhood. The more morning activities one attends, the more skill they become: Novice, Apprentice, Expert, and Master. The same thing goes for the afternoon activities. There will be two separate raffles, and again whichever tier you reach, your name will be put in. This also allows for Arrowmen from different Lodges to talk to each other and give each other ideas of how to better each others’ Lodge.
