Marissa is a graduate of Mount Saint Charles where she played on the 1993 Championship team. She graduated from URI where she also played tennis. She is the former tennis pro at Fore Court Racquet Club and currently teaches for the RI Tennis Academy. She is also the Varsity Tennis Coach at Mount Saint Charles. Marissa will be teaching private lessons for anyone who may be interested. We are very lucky to have all their hard work during the off season. her and we welcome her to SSTC! May everyone enjoy the upcoming season. I want to give a big thank you to the members on the board, who work tirelessly, all year to get the Club up and running. A special thank you to our Club Manager, Kim, and groundskeeper, Mike for being here all year long, putting in many hours to make every summer so special! A very big thank you goes out to Jim Kelley for his help preparing the kitchen for inspection! We passed with flying colors. My family and I became members in 2002 and we have thoroughly enjoyed our summers here over the winter to make our Club better each ever since. My year. Over the last several months it has been a pleasure to serve on the board of directors and see the great ideas and hard work being done. It is what keeps the club so exciting and summers, since they were babies, enjoying all that the club has to offer, including learning how to swim, how to play tennis and even competing on the swim team for several seasons. My husband Craig will often join us at the club, straight from work, to take a quick dip and play a set of tennis in the evenings. This year was my first active year of receiving and inputting all of the membership data. Swim Team Holly Bubier I have been coaching youth swimming for 8 years and will be coaching at SSTC for my third season! I love encouraging kids to join our team, improve their endurance and technique while making new friends! We work hard all season to compete at the annual Narragansett League All Pool Meet Championship in August! We will be hosting a stroke clinic on Saturday, June 20th, for anyone interested in trying the team or finding out more information. Swimmers ages 516 are welcome!! Important FYI’s The pool is not as flexible as we want to open by 11am for free swim on days of lessons. Swim lessons are based on Please remember that only water is allowed down by the pool. All other food and drink is reserved for the picnic swimming experience. Schedule times can be found on line or posted on the office door. You can bring your own food and store it in the fridge on the screen porch. Our managers make an announcement each night for fire requests. The grills are lit at 5pm and are ready to use between 5:20 and 5:30pm. On Friday and Saturday nights we hold two grills in reserve to light at 6pm for some of our late comers. The heat on our grills must be on the down swing in order to close for the night. We cannot light any later than 6pm on the days we are open until 9pm. Club Lessons Our lessons are free with your membership and they include swim, tennis, and arts and crafts. Tennis and arts lessons are bracketed by age and our instructors are very flexible in accommodating those children who have conflicts with the schedule. much on the wall the entire time and cannot be left without an instructor. Level 2 is for those children who are a bit more comfortable in the water and are learning basic floating and some introduction to strokes. Level 3 is for those children who can swim on their own and are trying to put strokes and treading together to pass the deep end test. (test = swim one lap of the pool and tread for 2 minutes.) Levels 4,5,6 are for kids who are strong swimmers and are trying to master their stroke technique and learn some lifesaving skills.
