Procedure
Warm-up
(5 minutes)
Pick one student to write their first name on the whiteboard. This student
should have a lot of letters in their name. Instruct students to come up to the
board one at a time to add their first name to the other student’s name using
one common letter (in the style of a crossword or scrabble board)

Act-up
(20 minutes)
To play, students will have to use their word knowledge to guess what the
unknown words in the puzzle are since no clues are provided!
To guess a letter, click on the box in the puzzle where the letter is missing and
then click on the letter you want at the bottom. The computer will also
highlight the other boxes that share that missing letter and will whichever
letter you pick to those boxes. The computer, however, will not let you know
if that letter is correct until you complete the whole puzzle and click submit.
Play multiple times or challenge students to create their own clueless
crossword puzzles.
