SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference elects 2015 Hall of Fame Class

SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference elects 2015 Hall of Fame Class
Players Nic China, Chris McCardell, Kevin Paustian, Nate Tutt and coach Bill Harkins selected
Atlanta, Georgia: The SouthEastern Lacrosse Conference (SELC) announced today the members of the 2015 Class of the
SELC Hall of Fame. New members consist of 4 former players and 1 coach/administrator.
Nic China: Attack, Wake Forest University: 2003 – 2006
Nic was a 2-time 1st team DII All Conference and one time DI All Conference attackman (Wake Forest transitioned from DII
to DI in 2006), leading Wake Forest in scoring in 2003, 2004, and 2006. Nic was recognized as SELC DII Offensive Player of
the Year, MCLA DII 1st team All American, and the MCLA DII Player of the Year (2004). He was also selected as the preseason MCLA DII Player of the Year in 2005 but unfortunately was lost for the season to an ACL injury in the season opener.
Nic was a member of the SELC 25th Anniversary team.
Chris McCardell, Defense, Virginia Polytechnic University: 2003 – 2006
Chris was All SELC DI in 2004, 2005, and 2006 as well as SELC Defensive Player of the Year in 2006. He was also twice
selected to the SELC All Tourney team. He was recognized as a MCLA All American in 2004 and 2005 and was a starter on
the 2005 VT SELC Championship team as well as captain of Virginia Tech’s 2006 team. Chris was selected to the SELC 25th
Anniversary team.
Kevin Paustian: Midfield, Florida State University: 2003 – 2005
Kevin was honored as a member of the 1st team All SELC DI teams all 3 years he competed in the Conference. He was
selected as a MCLA All American twice, in 2004 and 2005 as well as being honored as a member of the MCLA National
Championship All Tournament team in 2005. He also made the SELC All Tournament teams in 2004 and 2005. Kevin was
a member of the SELC 25th Anniversary team.
Nate Tutt: Goalie/Attack, University of Tennessee: 1999 – 2001
Nate earned All Conference honors at two different positions (attack and goalie) during his Tennessee career. He was
team Captain in 1999 and 2001 and a starter on two SELC championship teams (1999 and 2000) and three MCLA National
Championship tournament teams (1999,2000, and 2001.) Nate is being honored posthumously, sadly passing away in
November of 2011. Nate was honored as a member of the 25th SELC Anniversary team.
Bill Harkins: Coach, Florida State University: 2004 – 2013; SELC Division I Director 2011 – 2013
Bill coached at Florida State from 2004 through 2013, leading the Seminoles to 3 SELC Championships and 7 appearances
in the MCLA National Championship tournament, including a final 4 appearance. Bill acquired a career record of 152 – 45
and was honored as SELC Coach of the Year in 2004 and by the MCLA as National Coach of the Year in 2009. He was
awarded the Ace Adams Award in 2010.
The induction ceremony for the Class of 2015 will be conducted at half-time of the SELC DI Championship game on the
afternoon of Sunday, April 26, 2015 at the 2015 SELC Tournament in Johns Creek, GA. For more information on the SELC
