THE
Basic girls invited to Wyoming
Jan Van Tuyl and his Basic High School Wolves girls basketball
team have accepted an invitation to attend the 2nd Annual
PremierGMC Energy Classic Invitational BaskewinUT'oumament
in Gillette, WY, on Dec. 28-30,
The Lady Wolves will face competition from teams across the
West in the three-day tournament.

Teams from Arizona, California, Iowa, Nebraska, Nevada, New
Mexico, Oregon, Texas, Utah and Wyoming will take part in the
tournament and will feature many top athletes.'
Teams were selected for the tournament based on their records,
state and national rank and their returning players.
On Tuesday, June 30, Chad Hermansan will make his
playing return to the valley when his Triple-A Nashville Sound^.^^
take on the Las Vegas Stars at Cashman Field.
Hermansen Is a 1995 graduate of Green Valley High and
Is one of the highest-rated prospects in all of baseball.
The Stars will host Hennansen's Sounds for four games
— Tuesday through Friday at 7:05p.rn. each night — and the
Henderson Home News wants you to be there.

Signups for the Cowboys of the Nevada Youth Football League
will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Smith's on Lake Mead and
Green Valley Parkway June 20-21 and at Smith's.on Sunset and
Mountain Vista June 27-28.

The Henderson Boys & Girls Club is currently holding registration for its summer basketballleague. Registration will conclude

Spots are still open for participation in the sixth annual Skills
& Drills Summer Bliseball Camp which will be held at Green
Valley High School mis month.
Session I conclucjes Friday and Session II will be held June 1519.
Morning sessioils will be divided into two age groups. Ages 7-11
will pSurtice from'8-10 a,m. and ages 12-15 will practice from 10

Basic football sets golf outing
The Basic High School football program, in conjimction with the
Football Booster Club, will host the inaugural GolfToumament on
Saturday, June 20, at the WildHorse Golf Course.
A luncheon and silent auction will be held in the banquet room
following the golf
All proceeds will help sponsorathletes attending college football
camps this summer as well as funding the annual varsity training
camp and orientation barbecue held in August
The cost is $85 per person or $340 for a foursome and it is a fourman, best-ball tournament. There will be a shotgun start at 7:30
a.m.
